I guess you could say this is a Two Part Post. So that my sister Xena doesn’t steal the last half, I have given it to her, as she is tugging on my ear with her teeth and telling me that she wants to say something, too.
Part One: Hi, this is Lucy, Ace Reporter, with a clear conscience, on the Groom Beat. Today’s article features Maddie, a salt and pepper colored Schnauzer. Maddie is the same size as Angel Lexi was and has turned almost silver.
Her Mom (Anne) is an expert organ player and knows my Mom from when Mom worked at St. Luke. Anne usually grooms Maddie, but sometimes she needs an expert groomer’s touch. The holidays were so busy that Maddi got pretty madded, or matted, and Mom’s touch was needed. Xena and I got to come in the groom room and be with them, but Xena couldn’t stop her yapper so I took her upstairs. Before long, Mom was done and Maddie had her bath they all came upstairs too. Xena and I sort of played with Maddie while the peeps visited over lunch. On the way back downstairs, Xena was on one side of me and Maddie on the other when they decided to (almost) get in a fight and barked and lunged at each other right underneath my belly! That sure was a moment I don’t want to repeat. Lucy, signing off from the Groom Beat, with my guts still intact.
Hi, Xena here. I just wanted to say that I miss my Auntie Jen, who took care of me at Christmas time when Mommy and Daddy went away. Auntie Jen, will you and Uncle Bill come back to visit me soon, please?
XOXOXO Your niece, Xena Schnauzer Warrior Princess
Me too, Stanley and Murphy, me too. Lucy

Lucy, we are soooo glad your guts are still intact! That could have gone south really fast! I’m not sure what that means but mom says it.

You’re right, Hipster kitties. I like my belly skritched, not stitched. ~Lucy

Charlee: “Your mom does such a good job grooming!”
Chaplin: “And Charlee should know, since she grooms me all the time, even when I don’t really want her to.”
Charlee: “Pffft. I know you’re just pretending not to want to be groomed.”
Chaplin: “Well maybe. Anyhow the part about the almost-fight is scary though! We’re glad it was only almost and nobody’s belly got caught in the crossfire!”
Charlee: “For sure! Bellies are for holding food and getting skritched, not for skirmishing!”

You’re talking to Lucy, right/ Oh, me? I did get groomed since that picture was taken. Daddy said I had crazy eyebrows and Mommy said I was a hot mess, he, he. Xena

Thanks, BB. *hangs head* I’m sorry about causing trouble with you and Lucy. Xena
BB, I’ve heard about things called energy bars. Maybe that would help. And energy drinks, too! XOXOXO Your ready to tunnel girl, Lucy.

I am so glad you are ok, Lucy, and your comment to me about tunneling to meet each other sounds good. the thing is I am really lazy, make that low energy dog.. Love Big boy
Mom here: I have investigoogled all sorts of things about low energy dogs and BB is ok.. some dogs just don’t play or wander. He is getting better though, yesterday he played with his football all by himself, got it out of the basket and threw it in the air and pounced on it. we are hoping he will start to play. we think he was raised by someone in an apartment/condo with no yard and never allowed to play. Big Boy just said to tell the Warrior Princess he hopes her aunty comes for a visit soon

You are smart to not let that cold snow touch your belly, C. I was in the cold North with lots of snow a year ago and I needed a warm coat. It’s nice you let your Mom kiss your tummy. 🙂 Lucy

OMD Lucy, that Xena getting a bit jelly-green over another Schnauz being around??? Xena-gal, you better watch you don’t get barred from joining in the groom sessions! Even your beloved aunty Jen won’t be able to save you then!!! Gotta tell ya, all that lolling in arms shamelessly doesn’t equate to warriorism! hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

OMGoodness, L. Right underneath your softy belly?? You were very brave. I don’t like anything going on under there. I don’t even allow snow to touch my belly. If I flip it over, I allow Mom to kiss it, though.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
