Mom never ever makes bread. Or anything else like that. Not from scratch. Daddy is gluten-intolerant, so she says it just isn’t worth it. So today, we’re going to cheat a little bit and give you a recipe that involves something bread-y. Mom says it’s yummy. We wouldn’t know. Neither would Dad. None of us ever get any of it. It’s called Chicken and Biscuit Casserole and it’s easy-peasy. Be sure to check out Mom’s notes after the recipe.

You can use a couple of teaspoons of sugar if you don’t have Stevia. And you can buy those jars of chicken gravy, or make some from scratch if you boiled your chicken. Mom said to be sure to let you know that the 350 degrees is Fahrenheit. If you’re using Centigrade, just use the most common temp that you bake casseroles or cakes on.
This recipe looks delish. Very tempting to try it.
Thanks ladies for the recipe.

Smart. we usually just have a rice product. This is an exception I might make every couple of years for myself.

It doesn’t follow a recipe so much as make use of leftover chicken, whatever vegetables are on hand (carrots, peas, potatoes), a bechamel sauce and homemade biscuit dough tossed together.

That looks great. We might have to try it if we can get mom motivated

Before we stopped using most grains, we would have loved this recipe!
(We are not gluten intolerant, we just avoid the grains.)

Since I was raised and lived in the north for years, this is about as Southern cooking as I get. It is really good, though.

this is like how i fix out chicken pot pie, except i buy the two frozen pie crust and put the misture in that. this with the biscuits is even easier and would be delish. this is the kind of food i was raised on, thus the large size of me.

Let us know how it turns out. It’s fast and pretty hard to mess up, LOL, which is one reason our Mom likes it.
