Mom’s Losing It

Mom says there is a black hole in our house that is swallowing stuff. If she would tell us what and where the black hole is, we would go look in it for her. But we think she is just forgetting what she did with the stuff and won’t admit it. First she lost her mask – the mask that one of her grooming clients made for her.

She thinks she might have thrown it in a shopping bag as she left the grocery, but her search through the bags yielded nothing. So she bought a new one at CVS drug store. I don’t think she should be offering kisses to strangers…that’s my job, te, he!

I’ve started going back to Freestyle practice. Mommy was sure she had packed my little black harness with the red piping that she got at the church rummage sale for $1 a couple of years ago. It had my NPR (National Public Radio) leash attached to it. Angel Lexi made a pledge to NPR to get that leash. Well, Mommy made the pledge in Lexi’s name, and Lexi was not happy about that. Anyhow, when we got to Freestlye, she couldn’t find it. I didn’t care, ’cause I hate wearing my harness. Whenever Mommy tried to put it on me I would back up and she would grab me and pull me into it.

When we finished up and got in the car to go home, she did find it in the bottom of the bag. We got home, Mommy unpacked the bag and did other stuff. Later, when it was time for my walk, the harness and leash were nowhere to be found! I had to wear a stupid string harness she found in with her grooming stuff; it rubs me raw under my legs. Grrr.

After a couple of days of looking for my harness, Mommy helped me into my car kennel and off we went to Petco. I was pretty thrilled to go shopping. Oh my, the smells! But she kept pulling me back over to the leashes and collars and harnesses section where there was nothing fun or good to eat. And then the “try it on” stuff began.

On Sunday we went for a walk at the Greenway where there are loads of paths and scents and other dogs walking with their peeps. Here is me in my new harness. I hate it almost as much as the other one. (Don’t I look great in it?)

Lucy, I have an idea. Let’s hide so Mommy can’t find us and she will think we fell in the black hole, BOL!

  8. Wow, there’s black holes everywhere. Turns out Mommy’s was in her pants pocket…that’s where she found her mask today.
    I hate harnesses because I want to run free on our walks! XOX Xena

  9. We loose things here too…they get swallowed up by the great where is it hole…we have one here, it must be ginormous!

    When we give up looking for it like frenzied idiots, then the next day we find it in some strange place…like how did it get *there*?! Coffee tumbler for the car, keys, glasses…dog leashes, etc. You name it. We even have seen *her* frantically looking for some ointment she needed…weeks ago, but he had to buy some moire, cause she still has not found it. Who knows when that will show up in some weird place?? BOL!

    And we love our harnesses, cause when we see them it means lets go for a walk! Its hard for petcretary to get them on us, cause we are so excited we don’t stand still long enough…and Kurgo harnesses are hard to get buckled…

  21. Sounds like you guys have a mischievous house elf. Hope your mum finds her mask and harness eventually. It’s bound to show up.

  24. Wow, so there are black holes everywhere! Mommy said the car won’t lock if the thing called a key fob is still in it, and she keeps a second truck key in her purse, BOL! Xena

  26. Wow this is some story about your black hole and it seems like there’s other people that have black holes also and we do have one of our own here. It’s amazing the things that fall into that hole and then one day a long time from when we really needed it it will show up and we’ll say well where did that come from! I had to laugh at EZ’s comment because the other day I left my keys in the car and luckily I did not lock the door which I automatically do and I said to Bob where are is the second set of keys in case I do lock it in and neither one of us knew

  28. BOL, Mommy always puts her truck key back in the special side pocket of her purse, and the car is keyless so she has to have her purse with her with the fob in it for the car to even start. It helps her remember her purse, BOL!!

  29. Its so frustrating to not be able to find things. It happens all the time here too! My Margret says that the lost stuff needs to call out louder to her. I don’t know how that works, seems like she could just nose around and smell for it that always works for me! ~Bessie Pup P.S. we sure hope your mom finds the rest of her lost stuff soon.

  30. we have that black hole too… it swallowed even da car keys and we had to look for da second ones… boy that was like a treasure hunt… they are always at a “safe” place and no one can remember where that place is… maybe next time we make a treasure map for that and put it in a safe place… oh wait… that works probably not hahahaha
