We are so very thankful that we eat a fresh diet and don’t have to worry about aflatoxin killing us! But for those of you who eat kibble or canned dog food, ask your folks to read this article. We love you all and don’t want anyone to get sick from aflatoxin.
| Dear Fellow Dog Lover, Like you… I’ve been watching in horror as the number of deadly dog food recalls that mention “aflatoxin poisoning” as the cause… has been increasing at an alarming rate. And frankly… I’m concerned. Not just because of the hundreds of innocent dogs that have already died… That’s bad enough. But… Because only a small fraction of dog owners seem to be aware of just how dangerous this toxic contaminant can be. Truth is… In larger doses, aflatoxin can kill a dog… suddenly… and without warning. These are the cases you hear about the most. But… What most dog owners don’t know is that… Chronic, long-term exposure to smaller doses of aflatoxin can be just as deadly. That’s because… Tiny, invisible amounts of the poison can accumulate in the body… over time… and can ultimately cause liver cancer… and death… later in your dog’s life. Which is why I published this revealing report: Aflatoxin… Avoiding the Deadliest Natural Toxin in Dog Food What can you do right now… to significantly lower your dog’s risk of aflatoxin poisoning?Read the article here. Please help spread the word. And share this important article with other dog lovers. Keep learning. Mike Sagman, Editor The Dog Food AdvisorSaving Good Dogs From Bad Dog Food P.S. Yep. And raw gets targeted more often, with 0% of anything considered “bad” in it allowed. That’s a different standard than for the rest of the dry and canned dog food. It’s because of pressure from the big dog food manufacturers.

Hope our freeze dried raw is not on the list…thanks for the heads up…and BTW, peep’s foodables can have that in them too…

Lulu: “Oof … that doesn’t sound like a good thing to have in food at all! I’m glad my food hasn’t got any of that corn stuff in it, but sometimes I see Dada eating corn on the cob. I sure hope he makes sure there’s no mold on it first …”

LOL! I’ll have to watch for that when I feed it (which isn’t often because of the price).

Yes, you cats are carnivores, plain and simple. And it’s ok to eat some veggies if you like them. We get more meat than anything, too. XOX Lucy

I’m glad you have a reliable source. Of course, Hill’s has had it’s share of recalls too. You can go to the site and look your food up. Pick a letter of the alphabet and then scroll through the foods starting with that letter.

So scary. With all the scares we went to our vet for food. It was much safer. We have to take care of our babies, because they depend on us. Looks like your mom makes sure you have delicious and safe food. Good for her.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥

You’re not the first to say that! I researched all this for a year after Lexi died before I started feeding this way to Lucy.

Please do check it. It has the same problems as dog food. Plus, the high heat when it is made causes carcinogenics to form.
