Lucy Ace Reporter with Sad News

It’s been a long time, folks, but your Ace Reporter is back and ready to give you all the details on all of our new grooms.

Groomer Mom informed me that she has been getting in new clients, but has kept forgetting to let me know. In light of that, I am starting a Grooming With Mom series. Today, though, I want to pay tribute to the terrible loss of one of our regular and favorite pups, sweet little JoJo. Two days ago she was viciously attacked in her own yard by a Great Dane. She didn’t stand a chance. We have shed many tears over this senseless violence, and send prayers up for her grieving Mom.

    Chaplin: “Dennis told us once how, many years ago, he got attacked by a dog that lived across the street that got loose and came running into our own front yard to get him. After Mama and Dada and Dada’s cousin pulled the other dog off, she was all friendly with them. She loved people, she just hated other dogs.”
    Java Bean: “Ayyy, it’s a good thing all the humans were there to get that dog off of him!”
    Charlee: “Yes it was! They took Dennis straight to the vet of course. He had a few punctures and was badly shaken up but was otherwise okay.”

  10. My heart is broken for JoJo and her family. What a horrible horrible attack. It breaks my heart and I am so sorry. Sending lots of love to everyone who loved and adored JoJo…her tiny soul is surely resting pain free in heaven surrounded by 100% love and Tender loving and care.

  11. I don’t think there is (though I don’t profess to know all the intricacies of WP). It just seems sad to like such a terrible event…with absolutely no reflection on you guys. May the passage of time bring some peace and the recollection of sweet memories of your pint-sized friend. Sending hugs and tail wags.

  19. Xena and Lucy got attacked in our own neighborhood by a bully mix who jumped its fence a few weeks ago. I held Xena, but her foot got bit, and Lucy held it off. Someone in a big SUV came by and rescued us. Now I carry mace, and am thinking about getting a gun and carry permit.

  26. this is odd, yesterday there was a story about 2 great danes that attack a womans dog while she was walking it, the woman got bit also, a neighbor heard it and came to hel, just said central FL. i have never heard of danes doing that and now you have this one. this is just so sad. and i can tell you that the article yesterday ruined my morning walk, I have a fear of dogs getting out and attacking us, and now two in 2 days. the pits next door get away and i am always fretting over that. we rarely see a dog off leash and if i see one we go another way. now i have another thing to add to my fret list

  27. Oh, no, how horrible, and such a sad way to have to grieve over your lost fur-baby. ANd ikn your own yard, how tragic.
    I hope the owner of that dog gets punished too…

  37. We are sad for the loss of your sweet friend JoJo, and send sympathies on her tragic and unexpected and unnecessary loss to her family. We are lovers of all dogs, all breeds, including the large ones ~ but not of those humans who cannot and do not control them or exercise proper care with them. It seems this dogs owners should be severely punished for what happened, more the fault of the human than the animal as is usually the case. (Sorry if our opinion seems inappropriate, this just need not have happened with a responsible dog owner.) Rest well forever, and run free now JoJo.

  38. My Mom’s heart hurts at the news of what happened to your little friend JoJo…….what a horrible thing to happen. Just horrible. We’re so sad and sorry. Mom read about a case where a small dog was attacked in her OWN yard like JoJo by two pit bulls who used her for tug of war. Thankfully a neighbor heard her scream and rescued her. She survived her injuries but these things are just so senseless and horrible. It shouldn’t happen to ANY pet in their own yard especially. We are sure she will keep watch over her family from the Bridge…..Sending you all hugs too………
