First, thanks to Angel Brian for hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week.
Xena: This week we decided to do something different. We agreed to do something called collaborate (whew, that’s a really big word to learn) on the picture poem. So, here goes.

The Flower Garden by Xena, Lucy and Chia (but mostly Chia)
I went to my friend Pam’s house to see
If she would come out to play with me.
“Where’s Lucy and Xena?” she asked with a smile.
“I’ll run to get them, it’s lots less than a mile!”
So off with a leap I ran like the wind
To gather my sisters to visit our friend.
We all ran to Pam’s in our neighborhood…
Stay out of her flower bed! That’s understood.
She’d gone inside to fix us good treats,
Maybe something she got that she never eats.
The flowers smelled good; what fun to be had!
Needless to say, me and my sisters were bad.
Xena and I played a game we made up;
Lucy laid there thinking she’s such a good pup.
When Pam opened the door we all heard her scream,
“Not in my flowers! This must be a dream!”
We jumped up and ran down the street to our home;
We got there just as Mom answered her phone.
“No, Pam,” she said, “it must have been a nightmare.
All three of my good girls are sitting right here.”
Xena: Whew, that was a close one. I sure hope Miss Pam still gives us her giblets. I’m thankful for good neighbors like her. They help make this a happy place to live. Speaking of a happy place to live, I think that bad bully mix that attacked us as we were out for a walk is gone. His pawrents had him in a fenced area and he jumped it and bit my foot as Mommy was picking me up. Lucy had to fight him off. She was pawsome! Now Mommy carries mace when we go for walks.
Lucy: Thanks, Xena. I just did what I had to do.
Miss Pam lives just a couple of houses further up from the attack dog, and I’m thankful for her too. She gives good belly rubs. I’d also like to be friends with her cats, but they run and hide when they see us coming.
Chia: I’m thankful for…hmmm…oh! I’m thankful that Miss Jentry comes over every Sunday and spends the day with all of us! (She’s brother Andrew’s girlfriend.) She’s kinda like my gal friend, too…we’re buddies! My whole body was when I see her!!!
See y’all again soon!! Chia, Lucy and Xena Schnauzer Warrior Princess
Yes, we collaborated better than usual. (I’m practicing using my new word.) Lucy

I do hope that dog moved somewhere else. You have a mean dog in your neighborhood, too, Miss Sandra? *wags* Lucy

Exactly! But Miss Pam is our friend so we wouldn’t want to hurt her flowers. (Chia usually runs to her house when she gets loose, or just a couple more houses down to Mr. Ron’s.)

A plus poem (suggest to Miss Pam you were only blessing the flowers? watering them gently?) … dream on … if we had a garden (or a cottage) you could visit any time!

well done and well said and well told, that is 3 things to say and one for each of you. you can collaborate again and decide which one gets each thing I said. NO FIGHTING.. ha ha.. glad the bully dog is gone, ours is no longer walking but is still there.

Java Bean: “Ayyy, what is wrong with visiting the flowers, maybe doing a little digging, maybe doing a little mark—”
Lulu: “Just stop.”

You girls sure were having fun playing in the flower garden. It’s too bad that mean dog came and tried to bite you, but Lucy was a good big sis and told him off. We have our paws crossed that your mom never has to use her mace when walking you.

My goodness! Not only are you all adorable but you’re talented poets too!! Love this one – and we know the “Pam” in your poem is not my Mom but still she wishes she lived down the street so you would visit her too! Great job – we think you are FABULOUSLY talented writing poems. Your Mom should give you extra treats (tell her I sent you!).
Hugs, Teddy
