Hmm, you really do have the feline equivalent of Lucy and Chia!

I can believe it. My “good boy” (Mr. Chester) also had an extremely traumatic first 3 years as a feral tomcat before he was trapped and socialized by the rescue I adopted him from. I know from personal experience childhood trauma changes you in many ways. And one of those ways is an intense desire for peace and calm. Any kind of disturbance from the other cats worries Chester. Like your Lucy, he lets my other boy, Jeremiah, get away with his bullying until Chester can’t stand it anymore, and then he attacks Jeremiah so fiercely it scares the daylights out of Jeremiah. I keep hoping that will teach Jeremiah a lesson, since Chester is a much better fighter than he is. But so far Jeremiah seems oblivious. Oh, well. lol!!!

Wow, great observation! Lucy’s an extremely calm dog anyhow, very easy going, and the slightest thing, like me raising my hand for whatever, scares her. I think she had a rough first year somewhere. Anyhow, that’s how Chia got away with tormenting her for as long as she did.

I can totally relate to poor Lucy slapping Chia with a “Snap out of it!” lol!!! Here’s something interesting and quite surprising. Did NOT expect it. After a week or so my challenging girl (Honeysuckle) began turning her nose up at the calming treats and refused to eat them. So my good boy (Mr. Chester) and my huge, energetic, and terribly clumsy boy, Jeremiah, began eating Honeysuckle’s calming treats. At first I was annoyed and considered trying to find a different brand of calming treats for Honeysuckle. Then I noticed the strangest thing. The house was quieter than ever. Huh? Turns out Honeysuckle was showing off for those two. Without an audience for her misbehaving, she’s started sleeping more and is less active (i.e. destructive). Who knew, right? 🤣🤣🤣

I had to do that for a while with Chia. She was off the charts crazy…actually got our calm, loving, peaceful girl Lucy to attack her (not really meanly, just trying to tell her to STOP!). She can still be a handful, but has improved immensely in the almost four years she’s been with us. Xena gets afraid of stuff, but she basically does great, and she’s my “baby” and “Mama’s Girl.” 🙂

Xena, huh? And she’s the one on the trip with you? Yikes!! 😳 You have my sympathy. Seriously. After trying everything with my “challenging girl,” I started giving her “calming chews” before each meal to help me survive the day. So far it’s been working. Really cutting down on the daily disasters in the house. Wish I’d thought of it sooner. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s true, and I typed the wrong name. Lexi is my Angel, she was my Heart Dog. She was amazing. It’s Xena, who is now with us, who went with us to IN.

How funny!!!! After I wrote my comment I scrolled further and saw your previous post and that Lexi was the only pup with you this time. Except for chasing a big dog (lol!!), she seems to be having a good time and behaving like the perfect little princess that she is. Isn’t it funny how we always have one out of the bunch that is consistently the “good girl or boy”? God must have known on crazy days we need at least one of those. 🤣

I have certainly felt the same way, today.

It was just Lexi, and she is always my good girl. Except for chasing one of the big dogs (who ran from her) when he tried to smell her butt!

It’s been 87 days. I think I’ll let Xena have it if and when she dares show her face here again. I think she kidnapped my pawrents!
