Lucy: Mom and Dad have gone away again. Down to south Georgia, so I hear, for a little getaway retreat for Mom’s birthday this Monday. After they left, I started going through Mom’s recipes, just for fun, to see what we might all like to eat. BTW (that means By The Way in reporting news, or, maybe, just in conversation.) Anyway, BTW, we have a 14-year-old schnauzer living with us for a couple of weeks. Mom said she’d get some pictures and tell you about Zoie next week. But I’m off subject again. Recipes. I did find one that sounded great. Here it is, straight out of Mom’s recipe box.

Did you read the recipe? If Mom’s got in in here recipe box it has to be good! But I’m not sure Mom will be gone two months. And I really don’t know where I can get an elephant around here. We do have rabbits around here if we need more. Hey y’all, let me know if you make this, OK?
I’m starting to rethink this. I just don’t know why Mom has this recipe… XOX Lucy

Just thought about how long it takes me to cut beef for stew…I’d surely waste away if I had to cut up an elephant

Maybe we could invite all the neighbors and their dogs and cats!

Yes, I’m not having any luck finding any elephants, not even when I check with the butcher. Oh well. Maybe we could settle something smaller like an aardvark. *wags* Lucy

So, if you get a lot of company sometime, this will be the go-to recipe for dinner. Sounds good…..

Bwahahahaha…that’s quite a recipe. I think we’d have a hArd time finding the main ingredient here too and we don’t even think Amazon could fill that order! LOL Hope your mum has a fun trip with early birthday wishes from everyone at the Ranch are attached to this comment. 🎉

Mom says to us trying new foods is good…like spinach (yum) and fish (yumier). I wonder if that includes elephant?? *wags* Lucy

OK, so that’s 1 cat and 2 people coming to help eat the elephant stew. Just, ummm, let’s see how many more? *wags* Lucy Pee Ess: Maybe the leftovers freeze well.

I do not do recipes but If I did do recipes, elephants would be last on the list of cooking. ha ha sorry you are left behind. Happy Birthday to Mom and a very happy trip away from home

Well that is an interesting recipe BUT we haven’t seen an elephant around here in quite a while and our grocery store says they rarely (well….maybe not rarely – I think they said NEVER) have elephant available as there’s no call for it. Hmm…..Anyway, we don’t know enough people to invite over to help eat that amount of food anyway! I guess we’ll pass. If you guys decide to make it – let us know OK?
Hugs, Teddy
