African Wambat Soup

Hi there, didn’t I tell you I would get this recipe from Mom’s box and share it when she left town again?! Wait til you see it. Oh, and please let me know if you have any idea where I can get an African Wambat here in the U.S.A. I don’t think I can get to Africa to get one.

Does anyone know who this Micky Dolenz is that gave my Mom the recipe?
Guess he’s someone Mom used to know. Anyhoo, I’ve been imagining making this soup and thought maybe I’d throw in some yummy veggies to make it even better!

Let me know, friends, if you find any wambats and make this soup. I’m really looking forward to having a Wambat Soup Carpet, too! Uh, how long is 17 days?

Lucy, the new Chef in town.

  1. I was a fan of Mickey and the Monkees. WOW your mom new him.

The soup looks yummy but I think I’d go for the vegetarian version no Wombats in Raleigh.

  2. Lulu: “Our Dada says that Mickey Dolenz was notorious for monkeeing around! We told him he had spelled it wrong, but he insists it is correct that way.”
Chaplin: “Hmm, he must have learned spelling at the same place Dennis did …”

  4. Well my Mom remembers The Monkees and Mickey Dolenz – as for wombat soup I imagine it will be tough finding the main ingredient! Very few delicatessens and groceries carry wombat – maybe you can order one on Amazon?
