Xena: First, we are still thankful for Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week! We recognize this picture (it’s a repeat). but we can’t find our orignial poem for it. So I get to write a whole new poem! Here goes…

Don’t Say It! by Xena

I know what you were starting to say…

Just ’cause we slept in your dog house together…

I’ve got my own family, it wouldn’t work…

Xena: This whole week I’ve been thankful that Mommy finally found something to stop (or almost stop) my awful fall itching. She was going through old paperwork from the vet and found the note to give me a Zyrtec pill once a day for 10 days. That even got me out of the Cone of Shame!

Chia: I’m thankful Mom didn’t break my jaw when she accidentally smacked me in the jaw…
Lucy: Chia! She didn’t hit you that hard and it was an accident. You’ve body slammed me harder than that!
Chia: Yeh, well, I did get lots of kisses and cuddles and pets from it…and I’m thankful for that.

Lucy: I’m thankful that when Miss Clare is adopting a schnauzer puppy as soon as they get old enough. Miss Clare and her brothers and sisters live right next door to us, so when I run over to visit them, I can visit the puppy too! I love puppies. Here’s a picture of me a few years ago with a litter of puppies that came to Groomer Mom’s for their first groom before being adopted.

And I’m thankful that all 5 schnauzer puppies are coming to get groomed next month before they go to their furever homes! I can’t wait to see them! I’ll be sure to get some pictures to share.

For now, we’ll sign off with wishes for a happy puppy sort of day.

  9. Lucy: I love puppies. I wanted my Mom to adopt them, but they were already promised to other people.
    Chia: I’m OK, Miss BellaDharma. It was just a surprise and hurt a little bit…it came outa nowhere! Hmmm, I’m always under blankets on the couch and in the bed. Now you’ve got me a bit worried!
    Xena: The meds stopped working. Now I’m in the cone of sh…honor! (Grrr)

  15. That was a fun poem, Xena! And whenever I see the puppy word…I have to put blinders on…or else…well, you know! Same with kittens!

    Glad the jaw smack was only an accident. Ouch! Extra treats are deserved for that!

  18. How FUNNY!!!!!! My husband is the same way. I’ve had as many as 21 cats and kittens outside feeding on my back porch until I could get them all fixed, socialized, and adopted. And 7 cats inside. I’m the same way about small breed dogs. In rescue we want ALL of them. Period. So my husband lives in a constant state of stress. lol!!!!

  22. Well, kinda, and only you girls guessed that. Angel Achilles (long before he was an angel) fell in love with me and asked my Daddy for my paw, but I told Daddy to say no! My home is with my Mommy and Daddy. XOX Xena

  25. Oh no! Poor Jeremiah! And I don’t think I’d want to be the one trying to look in his mouth, anyway. Who would have thought?! I’ll be sure to get lots of pics of the schnauzer puppies. When I told hubby last night that the owner had decided to keep 2 instead of one of the puppies (which meant they were all accounted for) I knew inside he gave a sigh of relief. I’d been hinting…🤣

  29. What a cute poem!!! So funny. I love it!!! Poor Chia. I can only imagine what happened to end in an accidental jaw smack for you. Ouch!! Same thing happens to Jeremiah. He’s always moving too fast or in the wrong place at the wrong time. In fact, at our old house this past spring, he fell off the 12 foot balcony that hovers above the foyer. He landed on the side of his head. Scared the daylights out of me!! I thought he was okay. He seemed that way. Miraculously. But it turns out he fractured a bunch of his teeth. I had no idea until a month later when they broke off, got infected, and I had to rush him to the vet for emergency dental surgery. He ended up losing 24 of his 30 teeth. So be careful, sweet Chia!! And Schnauzer puppies are coming soon for a grooming? What fun!!!! Please post lots of pics. There is nothing cuter than baby schnauzers!!! 🩷
