Chomp, Chomp by Chia
Xena: Xena: First, we are still thankful for Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week!
OK, go ahead, Chia, you can go first.
Chia: Gee, thanks, Xe. I know just what I’m gonna write, too! Here goes…

Chomp, Chomp by Chia
“Roar,” went the squirrel, “you killed my family!”
“You’re next,” replied Chia. *chomp, chomp* you’re way too tough to eat.
The End
Xena: Well, that didn’t take long. Now it’s my turn.
Muscle Bound Squirrel Loses to Punky Chipmunk by Xena
I come home from the gym and find you with my wife!
D…mn you, punky chipmunk, I’m gonna take your life.
Don’t you dare, said his wife, I love my Mortimer.
He brings me figs to eat, and is a great lover.
Besides, she continued, your muscles are so gross,
I can’t stand to look at you or even hold you close.
I’ll move back to the gym, but someday you’ll be sorry
When you see me star in my friend Arnold ‘s next hit movie.
The End
Chia: Who’s Arnold?
Xena: Arnold Schwartzenhager. You mean you’ve never seen any of his action packed movies? He’s built kinda like that squirrel. Wanna watch one of his shows?
Chia: Sure, I’ll find some snacks, while you figure out how to turn on the TV.
Lucy: Well, I guess I get all the thankfuls, today. I know we are all thankful for young Clare who lives next door to us. She’s coming over again tonight (this has become a regular weekly thing) to feed us and take us for a walk. The folks have a dance lesson and are taking our brother Adam out to eat and visit for while they’re up in Cleveland, TN. Sooo, instead of us starving to death, we get to have fun with Clare (after she feeds us)! *big wags*
Also, my friend Sasha had to have some tumors removed and teeth pulled and she was pretty miserable. (She’s the boxer mix who lives just up the road from us and I go to stay with sometimes– and she and Oliver come to stay with us, too.) I’m thankful that she’s recovered and, even though the the doc sent the stuff off to be checked for the big C, she’s pretty confident that it’s nothing to worry about.
And finally, I’m thankful for the nice weather. It’s pretty cold in the morning, but it’s been warming up into the high 60’s F in the afternoon with lots of sun.
That’s it for today. What are YOU thankful for today?
XOXOX Lucy, Xena and Chia
Sweet Xena, it was a close race. I loved the reference to Arnold at the end. You did GOOD!!!
And, yes!!! Nothing like receiving the answer to a prayer you’ve been praying for months. Hallelujah!!!

What fun poems!! I love both Chia’s and Xena’s. I can’t decide which one I like best. Although Chia’s gave me a big laugh at the end, so I’ll have to go with that one. And, Lucy, it’s been an awesome week for gratitude and blessings, hasn’t it? Things were looking very stressful for me on Wednesday and only getting worse on Thursday morning until I suddenly received the answer to a long time prayer that morning and more prayers answered at Adoration at my parish yesterday afternoon. And now everything has changed for the better. I haven’t felt this good in months!!! We are truly blessed, aren’t we?!! 🩷🙏

We hardly ever see a squirrel any more. I think I scared them all away on my infrequent runs through the neighborhood. XOXOX Chia
Or all the loose neighborhood cats got them! XOX Xena

Enjoy your visit with sweet Clare. Gosh, our temps are warmer than yours-hard to believe it’s been in the mid-70’s. In November! That’s really something to be thankful for although we sure could use some moisture to tamp down the dust from all the fallen leaves. Great job with today’s poem. I sure hope none of the resident hoodlums work out in our neighborhood-they’re already too mischievous as it is!

Great poems for “Mr. Muscles”……! We also think your thankfuls are super – you’ve got a lot to be thankful for this week. We’re thankful that you did a poem AND thankful that you are our friends – because why? Because we love you!

We’re with you Chia…and would love to chomp that silly squirell. We wouldn’t mind eating snacks and watching some Arnold movies afterwards tho!
Have a good time with Clare tonight!
