Retirement on Sunday Selfie

Thanks to The Cat on My Head  for hosting Sunday selfies!

Lucy: Hi friends! Did you hear that my Mom and I retired from work? Of course, no one asked me if I wanted to. The Al Anon ladies are still going into the office on Wednesdays asking where I am. I miss them, too. What’s nice though, is sometimes Mom’s friends come over and I get to greet them and they pet me. Sometimes I just get bored.

I wonder if Pastor misses me.
At least I get to go on a walk with my Mom and my sisters every single morning now I guess there’s a bright side to everything, right?

  1. Yep, Mom is now grooming throughout the week. She’s even gotten 3 new dogs in since she retired. Mom said she’s not going back there unless they pay her to come in and repace whoever takes the job she had. *sigh* Lucy

  6. Well I understand you may be concerned about the ladies but I imagine they are going to handle that in some way Lucy…PLUS, just because your Mom is retired doesn’t mean she can’t take you by to see the ladies once in a while just to get some hugs !! Just enjoy having more time at home – relaxing and taking walks with Mom. All of us need to slow down eventually…..Mom and I are so slow we’re almost asleep (!!!!!) haha.

  7. I no they will miss you, but maybe Mom can find something else for you to do to make up for it. I hope she is happy to retire and that all of you enjoy her being home.

  8. Lucy, it sounds like you’re adjusting to retired life with your usual charm. I’m sure the Al‑Anon ladies and Pastor miss you. It’s sweet that you still get visits and extra attention.

  9. Mine Mommy went into “retirement” 18 years ago and I wasn’t even borned then, she kinda sorta thought “what am I gonna do” … and then a whole wide world of new stuff opened up ahead of her and wow, t’was fun and exciting [not all the time, but most the time] and well, here we are [which means, me … also, now] and yeah, it’s a good place … bein’ retired, so kick back, nap, it’s your time, all yours, you got there through hard work, effort, ambition, giving up stuff here and there, sacrifice and well, you know … so … want a cookie? Eat a cookie!

  10. Congratulations to your Mom AND to you dear Lucy! Retiring just means taking more time for fun stuff and we’re ALL happy to do that right? You both have worked hard helping people and you deserve a break. More time for walks and visiting friends and enjoying life. YAY! That’s a WIN!

Love and Hugs, Pam and Teddy
