After experiencing severe seizures every hour since 4:00 a.m., Lexi made the journey back to her Creator at 10:50 this morning. A prayer from our wonderful work supervisor and friend , Pastor Evelyn Harris of St. Luke United Methodist Church:
We commend, oh Lord, into your loving care your dear servant Lexi Sandy. Receive, oh Lord, your humble servant who has touched so many lives and reflected your great love for all of your creation. We thank you for her witness in this life and for her life to come, free of pain and diseases, in communion with you and all the saints. Amen
Lexi’s Dad prepared this video in her Memory and Honor (full screen is best viewing for this):
The date and time of Lexi’s memorial service at St.Luke, Chattanooga, TN, will be posted when available.
I cannot begin to express my affection and appreciation to everyone in this blogging community who has laughed with us and prayed with us and cried with us.
I remain, Amy, Lexi’s faithful servant.
If you need to call and just let it out – you have my number – whatever I’m doing I’ll drop as you are more important.

I thought about you all when I saw the picture and wondered just that. I will remember Shelby on Thursday with prayers and well wishes. I have been thinking about what to do about blogging. I have about decided to blog once a week with stories and memories of Lexi that my blog friends haven’t heard (or read) yet. As me, of course. Angel Lexi blogging from beyond would be just a little too weird, even for me. It will be therapeutic for me and hopefully help everyone still feel connected.

There will never be a picture of these three Scotties with a cat. I have been dumb enough to take 4 Scotties to the vet at one time. Shelby will be going for her surgery on Thursday. We hope that you continue to blog.

We had to stop and add our hugs to this list of yours and Lexi’s friends and fans even though we did not know her……we wish we had – she sounds like a most remarkable and special pup who brought joy, love, and healing to many in her life. Cancer is such a horrible disease that doesn’t care whether it takes the good, the bad, the old or the young……it’s NEVER fair. Lexi apparently never let her diagnosis define her though – bringing love to all who knew her until she left to wait at the Bridge for you to join her one day. I just wanted to say we know the sadness in your hearts and wish we’d gotten to know Lexi. The video was so touching and sweet……
Love, Pam and Sammy

Yes, you understand exactly. I am hoping to make it through the next three days at work, but if I can cry anywhere besides home, it is there.

I know too well what you are feeling today, and also know that it will only be with God’s Grace and the passage of time that the burden will be lessened. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Lexi was a very special soul.

What a loving thing to do. While we sat in the exam room yesterday morning, I stared at a picture that was a caricature of four scotties in a vet waiting room, along with 2 cats. It made me smile inside.

Dear Lexi’s mom,
We are so sorry to hear Lexi crossed over the rainbow bridge today. Well, let’s me rephrase that. We’re so sorry she had to leave her humans and her friends. We’re glad she’s off to a new start somewhere, and wherever that is, it is wonderful. There’s no words that can bring her back, but there are stories of her love and joy that will bring back her memories and the happiness that comes with anything that has to do with Lexi.
Always here for you,
Christmas and Robin

Dear Amt & Family.
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of our friend Lexi. She and her antics had brought joy to so many people. We know that she will be missed. We had just unplugged our memorial candle yesterday morning. We did not think that we would be lighting it again so soon. It will be lit for 7 days and we will be thinking about Lexi every time that we pass the candle.
