Winding Up the Work Week

I had a good week at work. Yesterday I carried my stuffies into the hall just outside my office. I could see everyone coming and going from there.

It was a pretty quiet day, so I could relax and play with Hedgehog.

And take naps in my Mommy’s lap. She said I am getting so big that I have almost grown right off her lap.

I saw Mr. David. He is starting to warm up to me. Miss Beth came in to baby hold me and give me tummy rubs. Someone else came in to pick up a paper they use to get food, so I followed Angel Lexi’s example and therapized them. Pastor Evelyn was recovering from the crud, so she came into my office too, but didn’t want to get her germs on me. I had a good lunch and did all my potty outside.

I am Xena the Schnauzer Warrior Princess ❤

  1. Hate is often spawned by fear and ignorance. My mother hated cats…said they are sneaky. (Ignorance) But she loved dogs. Thankfully, her prejudice didn’t rub off. Side note: when she travelled to visit me, one of my cats always got on the bed to sleep with her, and I caught her petting the other one several times. I am, however, still a dog person, even though I have had and loved several cats during my life. Can’t anymore – my husband is very allergic to cats and would end up in the emergency room, as he has before in his life. Hmmm, I would have a domesticated rat, but it wouldn’t do well with a schnauzer in the house. So, it’s just dogs for me and my husband.

  2. Cats are not very accepted in the workplace, unhappily. My angel cat Pepper was an exception on a couple of occasions. I took him to the vet next door to my work and brought a temporary litter box with me and let him hang out in my office. Pepper was a total extrovert and loved everybody. My office at the Manufactured Home Dealership where I worked had a glass window to the lobby and he would scratch at the window, wanting to greet whoever came through the front door. I did let him if the customer was amenable to cats and he loved greeting new people!

Unfortunately a lot of people don’t understand cats even though they like dogs. I think it might have to do with cats sudden movements and people get startled.

I would love to bring Patzy to work every day if I could. Hmmm. Maybe I’ll sneak her in when my boss is out of town? But again, the people I work with are dog people. Why can’t people like both, or all animals? I love them all and have had fish in my office – Bettas and later Goldfish. I have had a pet rat but I KNEW I couldn’t take him to the office no matter how sweet he was.

Sometimes dog people hate cats. Why is that?

  3. Hi Patzy! I would HATE to stay home shut up in a room (I can get out of my playpen now) without my Mommy! I am being really, really good at work so I can get the position permanently. ❤ ~Xena

  4. What a good girl you are becoming. My mommy and I are so proud of you and are so happy how well you are getting along at your mommy’s work. You are so lucky to get to go to work with her instead of staying home and feeling lonely. I’m sure everyone there is happy to have you there also. Luv ya, Patzy

  7. Aw, thank you Patzy and Miss Juliea. I don’t know what cloning is, but I am real good at getting shots now. Umm, Purrince [Siddhartha] Henry is my friend, and so are Shoko and Kali, but I don’t have any kitty friends in the furs. Do you want to be friends? ~Xena

  8. Thanks, C! Pastor E said if she got the crud on me then Mommy would get it and then she [Pastor E] would have to do all Mommy’s work which would just make her [Pastor E] sick again. I’m not sure what any of that means, but it all sounds bad. (I wonder if the crud is like mange.) ~ ❤ Xena

  9. Oh what a smart and good girl you are becoming Xena. Can we clone you and take your double home with us? My mommy’s boss might even let her take you to work too! But I might just get a little bit jealous because you are so cute and stiff competition with me. Have you had any kitty friends before? Luv, Patzy
