We want to thank The Cat on My Head for hosting Sunday Selfies.
Hi, this is Xena with a cone and drum today.
Lucy: I think you mean conundrum.
Xena: This is my post today, Mommy said it is mine all mine, so goodbye Lucy.
So, as I was saying my cone and drum is these areas of black hair growing on me. Here, let me show you.
Mommy called Granny, my breeder, and she contacted all her schnauzer expert friends, and no one seems to know anything. White spots, yes. Black areas, no.
I was that black color when Mommy adopted me.

This is me as a puppy with my friend Raccoon, who Riley deadied.
I wonder if this means I’m turning into a puppy again???
Anyone have any other ideas?

Think of them as marks of distinction.

So you think I’m just getting freckles, maybe because I’m so cute, Miss Monika?

Who knew dogs could get large freckles like that?

No nip, Princess Erin and I’m only 3. I think that is still very young. Thanks for trying, though, XOX Xena

We have no clue perhaps a trip to the vet could solve the riddle.

Wow!! You may be growing younger and getting black spots. You could pretend to be some rich bitch and get the best food…..lie lobster and crab…..without the claws.

If you were an Orange Kitty like me I would say it was Lentigo but with a SchnoutZer I have no idea. Maybe it is a Halloween costume?

Chaplin: “Hmm, maybe elves are coming in at night and drawing on you with a black magic marker.”
Charlee: “That sounds like the kind of cockamamie theory Dennis would have come up with.”
Chaplin: “Thanks!”

If it was grey that is usually a sign of a rub and damaged skin, but we have heard in pale furred canines it could be the other way around? So, in Mrs H’s esteemed opinion, it is either a natural sign of aging, or as a result of some minor skin change, or genetically modified nip! No, hang on it can’t be the last as Mrs H said she disposed of the last of my experimental batch – Hang on, you not been brewing up some yourself, have you 😉 MOL
Delightful selfie of you as a youngster, Xena

Hmm. This started about a month ago, so I don’t think that’s it, miss Sandra. Lucy said our beauty comes from the inside out, so maybe the blackness reflects the evil in my soul causing my meaness towards other dogs. She said I need to talk to my guardian angel Lexi about this. Xena

No matter if you have a black spot or not you’re still perfect to me! Maybe when Big Boy pass over the bridge he left a spot for you to remember him by. Did you ask Lucy what her opinion is I’d like to hear that

Tiny spots of black…hmm. That’s not bad, but you are very special, if nobody has seen spots you have.
