We’re In Inn Dee Anna

Hey friends, it’s me, your favorite schnauzer girl! Uhh, Xena, in case you forgot me since I’ve been gone from home one whole day.

We had a great trip to a city called Fort Wayne, although we drove into the same kinda heat that we thought we had left bee hind in Chattanooga. It’s OK, the nice Air Bee and Bee House we are staying in has the cool air conditioning.

If you look real close at my tag you’ll see it says HELP ME I’M LOST. Don’t worry, I’m not really lost. That’s just for if I go outside and get lost. But I try to stick real, real close to my Mommy!

Mommy and Daddy went out to a Mexican restaurant to eat with his sisters and their families last night. Daddy has a lot of food allergies that hurt him in different ways. For whatever reason, he forgot about that last night, and so did Mommy. She didn’t even think about reminding him not to order the dish with chorizo (pork) and bacon (pork) and cheese (dairy). She said that they had a great, fun time, but just before they left the restaurant he had to run to the bathroom, trying not to cover his mouth with his hand before he got there. They had planned on going dancing after the meal, but Daddy just kept getting sicker. The pepto bismol Mommy got him helped and he did manage to keep everything where it should be, if you know what I mean. But today he’s really tired, a side effect of one of the forbidden foods. I really don’t know what got into them, uh, I mean, why neither of them thought about it. They always think about that with food. Oh well, I bet that doesn’t happen again anytime soon!

I am feeling braver more confident than last time when Lucy and Chia were here with us. Before, I was pretty scared timid on the big wood stair going up to our bedroom. I did manage to pose for a picture or two near the bottom. (These 2 pictures are from our last trip here.)

Now I run up and down without a second thought!

Well, I’ve gotta go now – just wanted to let y’all know how it’s goin. Mommy has to go to the W-mart store to get my Grandma a cake and stuff to decorate it with.

Hope to see y’all soon!

  1. We’re home now and Daddy’s feeling a lot better, but still tired from one of the foods he’s allergic to. Your Dada’s funny. But I guess it’s better to focus on what is than what isn’t, right? XOX Xena

  3. Lulu: “Oh no! We’re sorry about your Daddy! I had stomach trouble from eating things I shouldn’t have, too, not long ago, and I know it’s no fun.”
Java Bean: “We’re sorry about your missing the dancing! You would think that would be what our Dada would be focusing on but instead he just keeps going on and on about the hardwood floors in your AirBnB …”
Lulu: “Humans are strange. Anyway, we send lots of tail wags for your Daddy to be feeling better!”
Charlee: “And we cats send lots of purrs!”

  8. Oh dear me Xena I’m so sorry about Dad’s sickies after his meal. YOU MIGHT need to start going with them to cafes so you can remind him not to eat certain things. I hope he feels better by supper.

The cat in my post yesterday was stalking a chipmunk…I think. Cats are quite patient not wanting to waste their energy so they wait…the the critter thinks it is safe to dash out. I saw the pine straw moving about like something waw frantically looking for a place to hide. Our ‘hood is full of them

  9. We’re glad you had a good trip but are sorry to hear your daddy made a mistake and isn’t feeling very well. Our paws are crossed that you and your daddy (and mommy too) have a good time for the rest of your trip.

  10. Well now, I hope the rest of your visit goes better (for you AND your Mom and especially Dad) – maybe you need to remind him before he eats ANYTHING that he has to be careful or – well – you know what! Have a nice REST OF THE VISIT!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  11. Glad you guys have arrived safely. So sorry to hear that your Daddy forgot about the bad foods that make meals challenging for his digestive system. Upset tummies are never fun and hope he gets caught up on his rest so he can enjoy the first party. Have fun chasing up and down the stairs and being a brave, good girl. Happy Labor Day weekend!
