Hey y’all, it’s me, Chia. Spoiler Alert: I’m OK.
Dad was holding me. Speaking of which, why can’t Xena just give up and get down. I squished her against the chair arm as hard as I could and she still wouldn’t budge. Not only that, but Dad was watching TV and not paying attention to me. Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth what all I have to go through to make it a special time just between the two of us.

Anyhow, Xena finally got down and I got situated better. That’s when Mom saw a crusty lump under my right arm. She got really upset and then she saw the same “crusty lump” on the top of my back left foot.

The next morning (Tuesday) she called the vet and made an appointment for Thursday (their next available appointment). So here’s the good news. The vet right away said it wasn’t cancer. She thought it was a bacterial infection from the germs in my mouth when I would lick those spots. But why was I licking them? (I won’t tell.) Or she thought it might be a fungal infection like ringworm. So off go the room lights and on comes this special light that makes fungus glow in the dark. Guess what glowed in the dark…no, not my lumps….my nail polish, BOL! That sure got everyone laughing. I like laughing, it’s a happy sound. Now I’m supposed to be taking an antibiotic type pill every day but instead I’m just getting an extra treat of almond butter that no one else gets. Wow, this sure worked out OK! The only part of it I don’t like is Mom spraying this liquid stuff on those places. It’s got an antibacterial and a topical steroid in it. But I don’t like it. In fact, I hate the taste of it, so I have refused to lick those spots to help them heal. That oughta teach ’em!! Now the hair has started growing back and the lumps are getting smaller. Guess I’m gonna live.

I’m kinda worn out, so I’m calling it a night. Sweet dreams, friends. Your buddy, Chia

Hmm. Mom makes all our food and is super picky about what goes in there, but maybe I AM allergic to the lamb…or the fruit or veggies! Yep, I bet it’s the fruit and veggies! XOX Chia

It’s really interesting there. And Mom held me in her lap while the nice vet lady looked at me. I started to try to tell here why I was there but I scared her and she jumped back. Mom had to explain that I was just talking and I NEVER bite. Then she was ok.

Charlee: “We’re sorry you had to go to the vet, Chia! There isn’t much I like less than that. I scream the entire way there and the entire way back!”
Oona: “And while you are there?”
Charlee: “Too terrified to make a peep …”

That is good news, Chia-girl. Glad to hear you’re going to be ok after a round of meds. Enjoy your almond butter and go easy on your sister. You both should be able to be Daddy’s girls.

Gosh Chia…..so sorry about those spots you have but it sounds like the magic medicine will work to make them go away. Also, in that photo of you, Xena and your Dad, please note that even though Xena is taking up space on Dad’s lap TOO, your Dad is holding YOUR little toesies in his hand NOT Xena’s! That means you’re more special-er so that’s good right? Right!
Hugs, Teddy

I am wildly happy this story has a happy ending. my thoughts on the photo are, it looks to me like you need a 3rd dog in the extra space. maybe Lucy would fit there, bark bark bark, or possibly another small dog. OR Chia you could move over to under the other arm and be more comfy. bark out loud

Glad you’re A OK, Chia!!
Do you have allergies that made those plces want to licked so much??
We stopped using wheat/soy/corn here, and it’s helped Dalton not to lick his paws so much. Now I have to read the dog food/treat labels as much as I do for the family’s foodables, BOL!
