Chia: Mom was having problems with Xena waking her during the night. Xena would start out the night in her little red bed in the bedroom. Sometime after Mom fell asleep, Xena would come over and ask Mom to pick her up into the bed. But she often backed away when Mom reached for her. Dad had a solution. Put the red bed in the big bed!
I loved that idea. It was the perfect place for me to sleep, even during the day.

And at night.

I only had one problem with this. I couldn’t sleep in the red bed and burrow under the covers.

So I gave Xena’s bed back to her so I could once again burrow. Now she starts out in her bed, then comes up next to Mom. She wakes Mom up to lift the covers for her. Diva!
Thanks to Comedy Plus for hosting Awww Mondays!

Yes, Bean! Sometimes I just lay under the top or second layer too! XOX Chia

Lulu: “I don’t understand burrowing under the covers. It is So! Very! Warm! under there.”
Java Bean: “Sí, exactly! I know it’s something a long-furred dog wouldn’t understand.”
Lulu: “You don’t burrow under the covers either.”
Java Bean: “No, but I scratch at the top covers so Dada knows to lift them up for me. Then I lie below then but above the comforter. ¡Es perfecto!”

Hmm. I might slide down something like that. Unless maybe it was rubber or sticky with fruit juice or something. Hmm, that might work!

Sounds like you need a canine elevator so you can get up on the bed without waking up your mommy, little one. 😉

Hmm. Maybe I should try being a Diva, then. “Hey, Mommy, pick me up, pick me up!” Oh forget it, I don’t even like being picked up. XOXOX Chia

And Mom has a special blanket to cover up Lucy in case it gets cold during the night. Otherwise, Lucy’s been pushing so hard against Mom that Mom almost falls out of bed. XOX Chia

Awww, you’re all so adorable and there’s nothing wrong with being a Diva. It’s a good thing.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

It sounds like you both get to enjoy snuggling under the covers that way. We would get too hot if we tried to sleep under the covers.

How funny!!! Once a Diva, always a Diva. lol!!! Or maybe Xena just wants your Mom’s soothing touch? Can’t blame her for that. Of course, Chia, I think you deserve a treat for putting yourself to bed and being such a good girl. What do you think? 😉

Bailie and I sleep on the bed with Mom, one on each side of her and Nelson prefers to sleep on the floor. None of us wake her up in the night, unless there is a storm or something. Hope you all get your sleeping arranged so it works well for everyone.

So true! I hear that Mom and Dad’s response to Angel Lexi when she used to whine was, “Do you want a little cheese with that whine?” to which she always wagged her tail and responded, “Why, YES!” Wish Mom would ask us if we wanted cheese…

I never used to let my dogs in my bed or even on the furniture. But things change…

Well now – things seem to work out if we just wait (and whine a little bit!).

You are very loved, Chia!! of course so are Xena and Lucy!
We are not allowed in any of the bedrooms…the only time Benji got to do that is when we were visiting our auntie and he jumped up on both our unfurs bed and then mine! Dalton was at home with pawppy, so he’s never had a chance…
