Xena: I’m thankful for Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week. Let’s see what Angel Sammy has in store for us today. Oh, and you’ll notice I hopped into the picture! *wags*

A Midnight Rendezvous by Xena
In the middle of the night
When open fridge lights are so bright
I awoke from a deep sleep
And in the kitchen I did creep.
I found two cats…not one, yes, two.
They glanced at me, said, “How d’ya do.”
I growled and said better than you.
Ignoring me, they found the stew.
You can’t reach it, I barked with doubt.
Get outa my house, get out, get out!
“We can with your help,” they mewed.
Then we’ll share this yummy food.
Mommy never understood
Why the pan no more had food.
I’ll ne’er tell how now I’ve got
Two cats whose friendship I bought!
The End
Chia: You befriended cats? And let them eat our food?
Xena: *sigh* It’s just a made-up poem, Chia. Maybe that’s something you can be thankful for today.
Chia: Uh, sure. And I’m thankful I’m not walking in clouds and seeing rainbows and butterflies like I did last Sunday. I even let Mom cut and dremmel my nails while Miss Jentry held me. Wow, that was some trip.
Lucy: Sunday was a nice day. You were so mellow, Chia. I wish you could be more like that more of the time. I’m thankful for the pills that make you like that.
Chia: Pills? I didn’t take any pills. Just an extra bite of ground beef…ohhhhh.

It was pretty weird…Chia

Good job to mom for sneaking pills into ground beef. Great poem as well. You know we kitties and woofies can become great allies when we have a common goal. Your AI graphic turned out great as well. I am not one for making dealings with uninvited cats but when you are raiding the refrigerator males all treaties understandable.

Charlee: “Lulu and I staged a midnight raid on the food container one time. She took all of my hard-gotten gains and ate them herself, but she paid for her indiscretion from both ends later.”
Lulu: “Still totally worth it.”
Charlee: “I don’t think Dada thought so while he was cleaning up after you.”

Too bad Lucy told her…it might be harder next time. (Nah, she’ll go for the meat.)

There’s a little mini fridge in the kitchen and I’ve figured out that’s where Mommy keeps our prepared food. I think I might be able to open it if I try hard enough. XOX Xena

What? Are you sure you didn’t see three cats? Why you darned near bumped right into me, meow! Well, yeah, like all da others, I was only interested in the foodz. Though my preference was tuna. Oh, and kinda funny, sometimes for me, too … when I get a treat of real, human-type tuna, you know I do suspect there is something hidden inside it …
Mine Mommy says she loves your art!

Xena! What a great poem! And I love that you were “in” the action by that open door on the refrigerator. I think all of us would love to find the door to the MAGIC REFRIGERATOR open so we could see what goodies we could steal!!! Thanks for having poetic fun with us today……good luck with the refrigerator.
Hugs, Teddy
