Thankfulness and Fun with Xena

Xena: I’m thankful for Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week. Let’s see what Angel Sammy has in store for us today. Oh, and you’ll notice I hopped into the picture! *wags*

This Dang Hoodie by Xena

I was guarding the dog treats when I fell asleep
And dreamed I was riding in a yellow jeep.
Then I awoke and now I can’t see.
Who dared to put this dang hoodie on me?

The end

I’m thankful that my 8th birthday was on a Saturday. That way Mommy could take me with her to visit my brother Adam on my birthday! She also took me to work this Monday and Tuesday as a special treat. I like having a birthday month and getting fussed over. I’m Xena Schnauzer Princess (Warrior) and us princesses like lots of attention.

Lucy: I’m both thankful and excited that the bible study group where Mom works isn’t meeting at all in July. When they start back in August, they’re changing their meeting day to Tuesday. That means I can go every single Wednesday to greet the Al Anon group! Mom told the group, and they keep asking her if it’s time for me to come back yet. *wags* One lady even commented that she loves to see me smile *big toothy grin.*

Chia: I’m thankful for our new 15-year-old neighbor girl, Claire. She has started dog sitting us when Mom and Dad go away. She comes over to feed us twice a day and in between too. When she takes us all for walks, I don’t even pull on my leash. Mom’s thinking about offering to pay her just to walk me every day. (That’s cause I’m not that good for Mom…don’t ask why, cause I’m not tellin’.)

Xena: Well, I gotta go now cause Miss Claire just got here. She’s taking care of us again for a coupla days while Mommy and Daddy go down to Atlanta. They are going to get some special kinda card so they can just fly through the airport. BOL, I made a funny! (Did you get it?) BOL!

  2. We don’t have loose dogs in our neighborhood. Only the one time that one of the neighbor dogs jumped his fence and attacked me and Lucy. He bit my foot while Mommy was holding me! Lucy held him off until someone came to our rescue. I guess I should go tell Lucy thank you again. XOX Xena

  3. We don’t fly a lot, but hubby really wanted to do this and we have this deal: whoever feels strongest about something, the other one goes along. Over the years, this has worked beautifully. And the last time we were at the Atlanta airport, the new international one just a few miles from the old one that is now only domestic flights, had not been built!

  4. Java Bean: “Ayyy, what a great birthday present, Xena! So exciting!”
Lulu: “It’s nice to have a friend who can come over and take you for walks! I would love it if somebody would run me around the neighborhood every day!”
Java Bean: “Sí, walks are nice, but there are lots of loose dogs here you know. They stress me out.”
    Lulu: “You can stay home!”

  5. I just clicked it, and it went to my page correctly. The cover photo and profile picture are still Cupcake, but the posts are right up to date (starting with Delilah’s first day of obedience school). If that link doesn’t work for you, try putting genevieve petrillo in the search box at the top. That should work, too.

  6. You too?!! I would have no idea what your “special card” was if I hadn’t been to my monthly acupuncture appointment last week and my acupuncture doc told me he had just returned from Atlanta. He went for a special card too. Sounds like a great deal if you fly a lot. And he does. He said it was lots of questions to answer but pretty easy. Hope you have an awesome time in crazy Atlanta!! I lived there from the time I was 6 years old until 12 when we moved to Dalton. Every time I go there I’m shocked how much that city grows and changes (including Marietta and Cartersville). They were sleepy little towns in the early 70s. But no more!!

  8. Xena: We don’t know what other life to live, Miss Sandra, but a dog’s life.
Lucy: I think Miss Sandra means it’s a good life, and it is! *wags and smiles*

  10. Good job on the poem Xena! We’re glad you have a nice dog sitter that you like so that you’ll be happy even if Mom and Dad aren’t there. I wish there was someone around here that did that – then I could stay home when Mom and Dad aren’t here. Although I have to admit I like the ladies at the Pet Hotel where I go – they spoil me even more than I already am!

    Hugs, Teddy

  11. A dog sitter!! We could use one here for when petcretary has to go and help our Auntie in a few months…our unfurbro may take care of us, but he won’t take us for walks…and pawppy can’t. We may need to go to the doggy hotel, same as last fall, only longer this time:(

Your poem was sweet and cute, Xena! We like your thankfuls, too.
