Xena’s Weighty Poem

Xena: We’re all thankful for Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week! I let Chia join me in the picture, as well as helping with the poem.

A.I., A.I., Oh! by Xena the Schnauzer and Chia the Jacksund

Xena: A woman in a man’s body
Chia: Or a man with a woman’s face?
Xena: We bet she’s good at karate,
Chia: Don’t make him mad, just in case.

Chia: Can he lift it with us on?
Xena: We must add at least a ton.
Chia: Guess what! The pic is AI,
Xena: And so are Chia and I!

The End

Chia: See, XeBoo, we can do fun things together when we try. Like when we play in the bedroom while Mom’s getting ready for work.
Xena: Don’t call me XeBoo! And yes, watching our new friends, Sasha and Oliver, play together while they were here made me want to try. Did you see me and Oliver playing on Friday. Then he licked away the goo from under my eyes. He wanted to clean my ears too, but couldn’t figure out how to get under my flopped ears, BOL! I’m thankful he came and stayed with us.
Chia: Did you see me and Ollie, er, Oliver, sitting on the couch smiling at each other? When I jumped up there with him and showed him my teeth, I’m glad he didn’t think I was mean.
Xena: No, I saw him think about it for just a moment, then he smiled back at you. “
Chia: Yep. We just sat there smiling at each other for a coupla minutes. We did it the next day, too.

Xena: Well, I’m thankful for all the things we just woofed about.
Chia: Me too!
Lucy: Count me in on those thankfuls. It could have been a really bad week, but it turned out good.

Xena: Our folks are leaving tomorrow for 87 days [a week]. But Miss Christy is finally coming to stay with us! We thought she’d forgotten all about us. It’s Mommy’s fault for recommending her to all Mommy’s grooming clients! We’re excited and thankful about her coming…but…I’ll miss my Mommy.

The Mom: I’ll miss you too, Xena…and Chia and Lucy. I’ll try to let everyone know about our trip as I can. It’s a 3 night ballroom dancing extravaganza in Dubuque, IA, with stops on the way there and back.

Until Mommy can help us blog again… XOX Xena, Chia and Lucy

  1. Wagnificent job with both AI additions to the pic & the poem, guys. We hope your Mom and Dad are having the time of their lives waltzing the weekend away. With apologies for the late response as we’ve been visiting hospital peeps this week. Enjoy your time with Christy.

  2. I figured you might wear dresses like that. How pretty!! My ballet friend who became addicted to ballroom dancing would send me videos of her at recitals and competitions. It’s really a fun style of dancing. And quite a workout!! I do hope you can entice a stranger to take a pic of you both. It will be fun to see you in your beautiful full skirt dress!!

  5. A ballroom dancing extravaganza sounds interesting. We like how Zena and Chia added themselves to that weight lifting bar. It is nice when we recommend people who do jobs for us to our friends, but often they get so busy, they can no longer help us out. We are happy your kitty caregiver has time for you. We are particularly happy that the visit from Oliver and Sasha turned out to be okay! 6. We’re driving. Stopping overnight in Chicago. I might be able to get a stranger to take pics of us, LOL. We probably won’t know anyone there. Yes, I wear pretty dresses with wide skirts so I can move well, and, well, do developes. That’s develop-ayes. That’s when we stop and I lean back and gracefully (hopefully) lift my leg with pointed toe in the air beside Jeff. You’ve seen this move if you’ve ever watched BR dancing. Anyhow, it helps keep us young. 😉

  7. Java Bean: “Ayyy, I show my teeth too to show I’m not mean! Mama and Dada think it’s adorable, and I’m glad I didn’t end up someplace where it would have been misinterpreted as snarling!”
Lulu: “Safe travels to your Mom and Dad! A ballroom extravaganza, that sounds right up our Mama and Dada’s alley!”
Java Bean: “Lulu! Don’t give Mama and Dada any ideas!”

  10. My goodness!!! All the way to Iowa? Have a safe trip (flight if you’re flying, or drive if you’re driving)!!! And have fun at the ballroom extravaganza. Will there be pics? I had a ballet friend who became obsessed with ballroom dancing. She always dressed in fancy dresses and heels when dancing. Do you as well? If so, pics please of you and your sweet hubby dressed up in your ballroom clothes!! Much love to you, girlfriend!!! 🩷😘🐾
