Chia: Hey! It’s me! *lots of big wags* Thought I’d get this out while Xena’s napping. She won’t notice til it’s too late. I’m a bit tired myself after trying to get used to our new bed. It’s that new protective cover the folks put on it. We all hate it. So this morning early I curled up and took a nap on the blanket that was left between the pillows.

Movin’ on, we are thankful for Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week!

Lost in the Water by Chia
Kit took me swimming and we went too far.
Now we are lost and can’t find the North star.
It’s cloudy so the sun I can’t see.
How can I guide by astrology?
I’ll try bringing up Google Maps, Kit said.
But the charger’s at home and my phone’s almost dead.
Let’s pray for a boat, land’s too far to see.
“It’s time to wake up,” Xena said to me!
The End
Xena: That musta been some dream you were having, Chia. Your legs kept moving like you were swimming.
Chia: Uh, yep. Thanks for the wake up, Xebo… er, Sis Xena! I’m thankful you’re my sister and we can play together and have fun.
Xena: Me too. Just don’t ever try to go behind my back and steal Thursday blogs from me.
Chia: How did you…uh, nope, never!
Xena: I’m thankful today that we got a King Size Bed! Now we’re all back in sleeping with Daddy and everyone of us can sleep next to either Mommy or Daddy!
Chia: I’m thankful that Mom washed those new sheets, too. She and I both had a hard time going to sleep cause they had a funny smell.
Lucy: I’m thankful today that we got a new real, real, real quiet car. Dad said it runs on electricity. And I’m thankful I got to go for the test drive in it! We’ll all get to ride in it after the new back seat dog sling comes. That sounds kinda scary, but Mom says it’ll be fun and keep us all safe and the car seat clean.
Xena: Yep, I thought maybe Mommy would name it after me like she named the Lexus after Lexi. But no. She said she was tired of asking if they were taking the Nissan or the Chevy Bolt, so she said she was going to call them Car A (the first one they got) and Car B (this new one). So now she calls the Chevy “Carbee,” and talks to it. Grrrr.
Hoping everyone has a great weekend!
Yep, Mommy says that’s EXACTLY what happened! XOX Xena

Wowie, it’s like a “whole new world” out there for all of you with a new “flying carpet” to travel in and a new “magic carpet” to sleep on, did someone rub a magic lamp and get two of three wishes …

Good take on basing the poem on GPS

I enjoyed your poem.
The new bed sounds wonderful. When my children were little, the king size bed could hold two adults, three cats and four small children. Those things are big.
Enjoy the new wheels!

I did not have on my bingo card for today thinking about Stephen King and Walt Disney in the same breath, Amy. Thanks for the lol!

Chia: We’re getting used to the cover, Mr. Bruce, and find ways to scratch at it til it moves!
Amy: Carbee talking back to me sounds like either a Stephen King or Walt Disney movie!!

Chia: The sleeping part is starting to work out. I’ve kinda gotten used to the top cover, and got Xena moved over at the top of where Lucy is sleeping, and I have at least a foot of space (not my foot, a big person foot) on the other side of my Mom to crawl under the covers and cuddle up to her.

Lucy: I kept stepping where there wasn’t a seat (Mom said it was the foot area) but once she told me to lay down, everything was fine!

It sounds like that blanket is gonna have a lot of company if that cover continues to take up residence. As for Carbee, just keep an eye out…you’ll really have a reason to growl if Carbee starts talking back to Mom.

Java Bean: “Ayyy, lost out in the water! What a nightmare! At least you woke up and didn’t have to worry about the two of you trying to squeeze onto a floating door!”
Lulu: “What on earth are you talking about?”

At least you’re never cold in bed in the winter! Xena and Chia are always up against one of us in the bed and now Lucy is trying to do it too, but Chia gives her a lot of grief over it.

My parents have a king sized bed and there has always been plenty of room for all the dogs they’ve had over the years. That’s a great poem and interesting dream you had Chia. We have one of those back seat slings and it’s great for making sure I don’t fall into the foot well when mom puts the brakes on.

Carbee…cute. Oooh, a king size bed…that’s definitely something to be grateful for. I don’t think getting a larger bed would keep Wilson from still trying to smother me. He must think he’s a quilt-he sure acts like it.

Well first of all your poem ROCKS…….secondly congrats on the non-stinky bed…….thirdly we think Carbee is a pretty cute name for a car! Mom’s Buick is named “BUCK” and Dad has the new GMC Terrain which he just calls “THE TRAIN”. Humans are weird right?
