Lucy, Ace Reporter here on the Groom Beat with happy news of a new groom.
Some of you may remember my sad report about Griffin crossing the Rainbow Bridge after he ran off, frightened by a storm. He was his Mom’s heart dog. About a month later one of his Mom’s elderly clients asked her if she would take his shih tzu. He had bought the puppy at a pet store, along with everything they suggested he would need. He spent over $4,000. But he couldn’t care for her. She reluctantly agreed. She told Groomer Mom that she really wasn’t ready for another dog, but wanted to help him. She is giving Ellie a good home. The first time she needed Ellie groomed, G. Mom didn’t have availability for several weeks, so she went to someone else a couple of times. But she came back to have G. Mom groom 10 month old Ellie for the first time last Saturday. Groomer Mom didn’t get a “before” picture, but she wasn’t in terrible shape. Here is Ellie after her groom.

Ellie is a very sweet girl. She stood real good to get her nails cut and to get shaved and trimmed. But she refused to have the hair pulled out of her ears. G. Mom actually growled at her, and guess what? Ellie let her clean out her ear. Same thing when G. Mom tried to shave the bottom of her feet! And when she was done, Ellie gave her a kiss on her nose! She got lots of praise for being a good girl.
Lucy, Ace Reporter wrapping it up with another successful groo!

Thanks to Comedy Plus for hosting Awww Mondays!
Ellie is especially precious as all doggies and critters are (or most~ lol)

Java Bean: “Ayyy, that’s wonderful that sweet little Ellie found herself a spot with Griffin’s mom! It sounds like everything worked out exactly as it should have, and Ellie’s new haircut is super cute to boot! As we would expect from your mom!”

That’s a good sign, right? In rescue if an adopter feels a dog isn’t going to work out she usually gives it back within the first week or a month at the longest. The fact she’s had this precious little nugget for 4 months is very encouraging!!

I know what you mean!! That happens to me all the time. I must be the worst when it comes to timing. lol!! God is always bringing them to me much faster than I think I’m ready. It takes me a while to adjust to God’s timing too. Definitely a few days. I had no idea Lucy was your “God’s timing” baby. The good thing is God’s timing always works out perfectly. And Lucy is an excellent example of that. She is a treasure!!

That is so true. So true. Lucy was my “God’s timing” dog, and it took me a week or so to be ready to hear Him tell me so.

Yes, it’s true. My only concern is that she said more than once in our conversation that she wasn’t ready… I do hope this works out for them both.

Exactly!!!!!! There is always a hole in your heart for the furbaby that passed. It never fills in. The trick is knowing how long to grieve and when to stop and move forward. The thing is our timing is rarely God’s timing. lol!!!

I agree. And the passing of those “special ones” (like my Mr. Chester) take longer. On the other hand, when a pet parent is ready, I think there is no better way to honor a furbaby that passed than by adopting another homeless baby from a rescue, shelter, or rehoming situation. 🩷🐾

Yes, I think it is just taking time for her to finish grieving her other pup.

Lucy this story is so heartwarming. I know Griffin’s mom still misses him. However I am a firm believer things happening for a reason. Ellie’s Dad was wise to realize she needed more than he could give her so he gave her the GREATEST GIFT EVER a loving home.

Ellie is a cute little girl ! My sister has an adorable shih tzu who keeps her company and is getting to be a “senior citizen” like my sister is. They make a perfect pair. LOVE FINDS A WAY even if we don’t think we’re ready!! I love happy endings.

What a precious little girl!! And a gorgeous groom!! It always works out that way…the perfect furbaby usually comes to us before we think we’re ready. But in the end it always turns out to be perfect timing. 🩷🐾
