Xena: First, thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week!
Today is the 11th Annual FiveSibes #LiveGibStrong Purple Day®️ for Epilepsy Blog Hop & Social Media Share! AND it’s the day we create great poetry for the pictures Angel Sammy gives us! AND it’s Thankful Thursday. Wow, I’m getting tired just thinking about everything that’s going on. I’m gonna take a nap and will be right back.
Chia: I’m not tired! Here’s the picture for today, and my poem follows it.

Shhhh, Don’t Tell by Chia
Shhh, don’t tell anyone
You saw me fall on the ground and shake.
Shhh, I’m my father’s son,
He can’t see me writhe like a snake.
Shhh, don’t tell anyone.
I want to be just like my friends.
My life has just begun
But I can almost see how it ends.
Maybe you should tell someone.
I need help.
I need help.
I need help!
The End
Xena: *yawn* Thanks for taking over, Chia, while I took a little nap. Hey! You’re done! *reading the poem* Poor little guy. Let’s help tell everyone about Epilepsy Awareness.

(L-R) Lucy, Chia, Xena
Finally, thanks to Five Sibes for hosting this day.

Xena: We agreed that together we would tell you how thankful we are for all our blogging friends. You help us – especially our Mommy – get through the tough times. And from being at our church for the funeral, I realized how much love and caring our folks get from those great people, too. (And everyone was happy for me to be there!)
Love from YOUR friends, Xena, Lucy, Chia and our Mom
I got it today. Thank you. And I got the shirt today and am wearing it!!

Wow, your hubby having those seizures must have scared you both terribly! I’m so glad he hasn’t had any more.

Evemn though I worked in health care for many years, decades actually, I had never seen a full on so called grand mal seizure; (Though I had seen some petit mal ones). Then hubby had three in 2 days. Wow, scary is right. That was in the summer of 2022, and he has not had another since. Thankful we are for the medication he takes.
That poem was perfect for purple day, and I imagine if you were that little boy it would be so hard to be that way, not knowing when you might have an episode, and what the others might think.
Yes blogging has given so many of us good friends, even though we have never met in person…at least not very many of us do.

Xena: Our Mom says she remembers the days of going to the library or the newspaper for answers. It’s so much easier now! XOX

Yes, a preventative would be the best thing of all.

Thanks for sharing it there! I had a schnauzer who had epilepsy. She died at 19 months, but it was probably from her class 4 heart murmer.

Lulu: “When our Dada was a kid his dog Missy had epilepsy, and the first time she had a seizure he was home alone with her and didn’t know what to do. As you can imagine, it was pretty scary for him, especially since they didn’t have the Internet or anything like that to do research with.”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, no Internet?! No, I cannot imagine that at all!”

Yes, anyone or any pet with epilepsy needs help, and there is help. Now I’m just praying they find a cure, or a preventive.

What a heartfelt, beautiful poem. So fitting for today, Purple Day for Epilepsy awareness. 💜 And thank you so much for joining us in our blog hop to bring awareness to others, that epilepsy does not stop dogs, pets, and humans from enjoying life. We appreciate you! Sharing your post on my FiveSibes FB page, too, today so others can read your poem, too.

Great job with the poem. Purple Day is one of those events that’s near and dear to my heart and I’m forever grateful to the FiveSibes for their info and resources over the years that helped Elsa live the good life. Even with epilepsy, she enjoyed life just like other dogs. 💜💜💜
