The Happy Run on Thankful Thursday

Xena: A BIG thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week! This week there were so many ways to go with the picture, it was hard to decide. Hope you like whart I finally wrote.

The Joyous Dance by Xena

I was playing in the water when these maniacs appeared.
They were running, fists clenched and screaming; toward the safe beach I veered.
I saw more pouring from the doors of Weight Watchers Anonymous.
I found out they’d all lost ten pounds or more; that caused the joyous fuss!

The End

Lucy: That sure would have scared me, too. I’m glad you did the picture poem this week, Xena.
I hope it’s OK if I share some stuff that’s been going on…I’ve not been acting like myself lately and Mom’s trying to find out what’s wrong. The good news is I HAVE STOPPED EATING STONES! But I’ve been itching and biting at myself. In the middle of the night, while sleeping in the big bed, I’ve been jumping up real fast and running across the bed like something scared me. The first night, I did that three times. Mom’s checked me good for fleas, and there’s none to be found, so it’s not something biting me. And you know how when you wake up and you think you had a bad dream but can’t remember it? Yep, if that’s it, I don’t remember. Anyhow, the bedroom closet has become my safe place. Mom put a big doggie bed with a soft blanket in there, and that’s where I sleep all night now. She leaves a dim light on so the boogey man won’t get me. It’s been working good so far. And in the morning, I get up and either I nudge the bathroom door open and and come out or Chia comes over and pushes it open for me. Oh, sorry folks for woofing on and on about this…just one more thing. I’m thankful that Mom got a sensitivity test for me. She “swabbed” my mouth (it didn’t hurt) and cut off a little bit of hair from my backside and sent it off in the mail. We’re waiting to see what it tells us. *wags*

Chia: The last day Fritzie was here, I saw Xena hold the doggie door open for him. I figured I could help you with a door too, Lucy. And it felt good to do something nice! I’m thankful you’re my big sister and I hope you’re ok.

Xena: I’ll be thankful when the septic line in our front yard gets fixed. It’s been too rainy, so the fixer man couldn’t do it yet. Usually, when we come back from taking a walk, Mommy takes off my and Lucy’s leashes at the bottom of the driveway and let us run up the hill and play. We’ve not been able to do that for two or three weeks cause the first have of the hill is what Mommy calls “a swamp.”

Mom Amy: I’m thankful that my precious husband has cut back his hours at work. It gives him more time to do things he loves, like create menus and cook! I only cook cause we’re hungry and don’t want to eat out most of the time. The bonus besides relieving me of that job is Jeff is a great cook! (Of course, I still make 6 dog meals every morning!)

Xena: Hoping to see everyone again soon!

  1. Thanks, Miss Monika. I’ve left the closet and am now sleeping in my Dad’s office, just down the hall. I got my test results back and will ask Mom to tell y’all about them soon. The big thing is I’m allergic to beef, and that meant a big change in my diet and also my supplements! (Tonight I got to eat a whole chicken thigh with the bone still in it. Don’t worry, I crunched it up good.) XOX and *wags* Lucy

  3. We sure hope your new safety spot at night helps get you through the night safely now and the test results provide some clues as to why strange things are going on. Plus we sure hope the septic issue gets fixed soon. Great job with the poetry, Xena.

Lucy scary nights are the worst.

One thing we don’t have to worry about is too much rain. We are in a severe drought this is our 16 th day w/o any not to mention we have only had about 2.5″ since Janaury

  7. Do ya kinda sorta think a few more sessions at Weight Watchers might be considered? Good poem. On the other side … what a busy life it’s been around about your place of late, hope things calm down and fall into order soon … BTW, the closet thing: JUNE, for what it’s worth, loves napping in the closet, any one of them. Think it’s the semi dark and quiet that she finds comforting.

  8. WOW! That poem was absolutely PERFECT for the photo this week – BRAVO!!!! We also want to send special POTP to Lucy – you’re being very brave in spite of feeling “not right” but your Mom is working to try and figure out what’s what. It’s wonderful having caring Moms and Dads who take such good care of us. We’re happy you aren’t eating stones anymore though – there’s lots better and tastier stuff around for sure. Hope all of you have a happy Thursday and thank you SO MUCH for brightening our Thursday every week with a fabulous poem!!!!!!

Big Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam
