Chia’s Borrowed Tricycle on Thankful Thursday

Chia: Hi! Xena would say that we voted and I was chosen to do this week’s poem. Hmmm. Let’s go with that!

My Tricycle by Chia

“Give me back my tricycle, I know it from A to Z!
If anyone should be giving rides that anyone is me!
How much are you charging for that fun, you bully dog?
You owe me that plus interest or I’ll push you in the bog!”

“I had one as a pup; my dear Grandma gave it to me.
Now that my nephew’s visiting, I wanted him to see
What I did at his age, and experience it too.
Just wait until our ride is done, then I’ll give you your due”.

Chia’s eyes grew wide. “My due? You mean a beating, too?
I only want my tricycle! What’s a little dog to do?
You can keep the money, and I’ll forget about the bog,
Just give me back my tricycle, you big old bully dog!”

The End

Xena: Chia, we didn’t vote.

Chia: I know, but I figured you’d say we did, BOL!! Anyhoo, today’s also Thankful Thursday. I’m thankful that Mom’s retired now and can spend almost all day everyday with me! And sometimes I’m thankful that Fritzie has been coming over every Monday and Tuesday to stay all day with us. But sometimes he won’t leave me alone, even when I’m done playing, and then I’m not so Thankful…

Xena: I’m thankful for Fritzie, too, and also thankful when he pesters you and not me when I’m tired of him. Unlike you, Chia, I’m not thankful that Mommy isn’t going to work anymore, cause that means I can’t go either. But I’m thankful she’s happy and holds me whenever I ask her to.

Lucy: I’m thankful that Mom can now take us on walks every morning (unless it’s pouring rain). And, even though you were a “bad girl,” Chia, when you ran off again last Sunday, I’m thankful that you came home almot an hour later – even if it was in the little neighbor girl’s arms. You know, Chia, you really shouldn’t turn around and slip out of your harness, then start running through the neighborhood. And Xena ran with you across the street, not coming back as Mom was hollering for her. At least Xena waited in the neighbor’s yard for Mom to come get her! I’m thankful I got special treats because I was the good girl who stayed right where I was in front of the porch steps.

Happy Thursday to all our great friends, and thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week!
