Haunted House and Thankful Thursday

Xena: Hey guys, let’s do our thankfuls first like we used to do. I’m thankful for the cooler weather and more time outside. And I’m thankful that I can cuddle up with Mommy in bed to stay warm. I like that better than wearing jammies.

Chia: I’m thankful that Fritz didn’t have any fleas last time he came over. He gave me that one that was on my head last week. I don’t like those kind of presents!

Lucy: I’m thankful for all the sunshine. I love to lay out in the dog lot and soak up the sun.

Mom Amy: I’m thankful that the small crew who took care of our destroyed front yard came back last Saturday and fixed all the places they missed and got rid of all the big stones. I walked it three times to try to be sure nothing was missed. And I’m thankful they didn’t try to charge me more, too!

Xena: Here’s my poem for this week!

Haunted House Terror by Xena

Mommy and Daddy took me through
A haunted house in my costume.
We were going along real good
’til I ran ahead – ’cause I could!

The folks in front started to scream
‘Cause I was dressed for Halloween?
But when I turned around I saw
A monster wielding a chainsaw!

I jumped and screamed and turned around
So fast my paws barely hit the ground.
Mommy and Daddy said, “Xexe, dear,
There really is no need to fear.
He’s just an actor paid to be here!

Whew. I hope no one tries to take me through a haunted house! But I did get to go to Chattanooga’s City Oktoberfest last Sunday. We picked up my peeps brother Adam, who loves me lots and lots and I love him too! After a few hours of music and lots and lots of people and vendors selling stuff (and did I mention loud band music?) I was ready to go home and get my supper, so Mommy took me and Adam home and fed us. Then brother Adam spent the night with us before Daddy took him home on Monday. I’m always thankful to have my brother here!

Happy Thursday to all our great friends, and thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week!

  1. WOWZERS Xena! You’re brave! I couldn’t go in a haunted house or even walk up to a ghostie on someone’s lawn all by myself. We loved your thankfuls too. There’s so much to be thankful for it just takes a moment of quiet (which is hard to find) to remember all our thankfuls!!!

    Big Hugs, Teddy

  3. Our family stays out of those haunted displays and houses, they would have nightmares for years!

Glad there were no fleas, UGH!

Sounds like the Oktoberfest event was a success and it was nice that you got to be with Adam for a while, too.

We’ve had lots of glorious sunshiny days, too.
