Nature Friday in my Hoodie (Pththth)

We are joining Arty, Jakey, Rosy and Sunny of the LLB Gang with much thanks for hosting Nature Friday.

Xena: Since the weather has gotten a bit colder Mommy insists I wear my jammies at night and my hoodie on our walks. Now, while I would like to honor my Angel Piper – it was his hoodie — I would much rather not wear it. Why, you ask. Because Angel Lexi taught me that clothes are like a punishment and now I. Hate. Clothes. Sure, I used to wear them and look pretty darned cute when I was a puppy. But I’m a big girl now (I’m 3 whole years old) and I am just fine without them thank you very much. Anyhoo, this is what happened when Mommy first put the R2D2 hoodie on me.

Help! I’ve been blinded. Everything has gone dark!
How can I go for a walk if I can’t see!!

This is simply un-nature-all. I’m not going anywhere looking like this.
Moments later…

Hey Lucy, bet I can walk faster than you.

Lucy: You’re not walking, you’re trotting like you always do, Xena.

Xena: Haven’t you heard, Lucy? Trot is the new walk, BOL! Besides, when was the last time you actually saw me walk? My new motto: Why walk when you can trot?

Lucy: We’re supposed to be posting about nature, not racing.

Xena: Here’s some nature on the road – it’s called leaves. Dead leaves. Maybe we should look some more. I’m not done trotting.

Lucy: OK Xena, whatever you want, Miss Trot-about. Umm, there’s a lot of leaves over there. And some sun, too. I think that counts.

Xena: Rrrrr. Why am I having to pull so hard to trot?

Lucy: Mom’s yelling at you to “Heel,” and to “Walk with me!”

Xena: *grunt* This trotting fast is hard work when no one cooperates. Uh, did you or Mommy say something, Lucy?

Lucy and Xena the Trotting Schnauzer Warrior Princess wishing you a happy and natural weekend.

  1. I gallop chasing Lucy, but yes, I think if Angel Lexi could help give ballroom dancing lessons, I certainly could give trotting lessons. Let’s see. First your right front leg moves forward a the same time as your back left leg, then, um, then just the opposite. Wait, I don’t mean go backwards. Hmm. I’ll have to think about this. XOX Xena

  3. We wish we could have seen LadyMew spit her water on you, BOL, BOL! I could beat that little girl in a race any day. Sometimes I let her catch me when we are running zoomies in the front yard, just to keep her happy. XOX Lucy

  5. Sophie feels your pain. She has been wearing a shirt to protect the stitches from her emergency surgery two Mondays ago. The stitches will be out on Monday morning and she will be back to normal(whatever that is)

  6. I do believe a couple of those leaves came from my neighbor’s tree. I sent them along so they must have traveled onward to Tennessee. Your hoodie looks comfy and you look pretty cute Xena. On chilly days, it’s probably a good idea to wear something like that.

  7. We wear clothes sometimes for photos, but never at night or on walks. Our furs keep us warm. Hope you can work out a solution for that with your mom. Olivia and I enjoy dragging our mom on our walks. We know she enjoys it too. Keep that pep in our paw steps.

  8. I hate wearing clothes. I only have one, a winter coat, that Mom rarely makes me wear, cuz she knows how much I hate dress-up. I make her Photoshop clothes on me instead of making me wear dem.

  9. BOL BOL Xena that is so funny. Just this week I saw an Airedale walking his owner on a trail. It was a brisk morning it was wearing a coat too. I commented on how nice it looked. The owner said I was cold so I put it on him, she said I doubt he is cold. LOL
BUT at least his didn’t have on a hood
