Hi friends, it’s me, Xena, back again having fun with a picture by Angel Sammy And, as always I’m thankful for Angel Brian, who does such a great job at hosting Thankful Thursday. I told Lucy she could do the poem since it’s her birthday month, but she said that I’m the little dancer in the family, so I might as well be in this poem. Besides, she was trying to take a nap in a sunpuddle.

Little Dancer by Xena the Dancing Schnauzer
Ballerina, you must have seen her
Dancing with the troupe.
A little schnauzer,
A music whisperer,
Dreams she’s part of the group.
But, oh, how real it feels
Twirling on the floor
With fairies round her feet.
Only you, Mom, only you
Can see me dancing to the beat
Softly, slowly…
Xena: I want to thank Mr. Elton John for the inspiration for my poem today. (Can you hear the music in your head?)
Lucy: I knew you’d do a great job with this picture today, Tiny Dancer Xena. And if no one here minds, I’d like to give the thankfuls on this Thursday. I’m thankful for the big greenies like treat that Mom got me for Christmas, and smaller ones for Xena and Chia, too. As always, Mom read the packages carefully and determined that the Minties brand didn’t have anything harmful in it for us. Even though Mom brushes our teeth every day (almost-sometimes she misses a day), my teeth are starting to get some plaque, so we’re hoping these treats will help. And they’re soooo good! *wags* And I’m thankful for the homemade doggie Christmas cookies she made us all – in the shape of a bone – that have only really healthy ingredients and taste great! Some have tomato in them with oregano and some have pumpkin. I love them both. Well, after these thankfuls about food, I wonder how close it is to dinner time…or if it’s cookie time….gotta go check it out.
Your friends, Lucy the birthday month girl, and Xena.
But a lot of girls wish that was it, LOL!

Maybe she’ll keep getting the smaller ones for our “littles.” They take a long time to chew them up, while Mom watches to be sure they don’t choke. *wags* Lucy

What a fun poem!! Yes, I can hear Mr. Elton in the background. lol!!! You have an awesome mom if she brushes your teeth almost every day. I’m a big fan of Greenies too. Although I bought a package of Whimsies the other day as an experiment. My furbabies loved them, but I don’t think they are as easy on their tummies as Greenies. Has your mom ever given you Whimsies?

What a sweet poem, Xena! Maybe you need to get some ballet slippers?? Oh wait, we don’t think you could stand on your toes…BOL!
We know that you love to dance and go to competitions with your Mommy!
We used to get Minties, too…but I Benji am like you, Lucy, and I just about take 10 seconds to make them disappear. Petcretary has read somewhere that a dental chewy needs to be chewed for about 2 minutes to be effective…tee-hee, I Benji can’t read, so I gobble them up! BOL!

Well, we think your á la seconde is probably top notch, Xena. Bless you sweet Lucy for letting your dancing sister have this week’s poem, even though it’s your birthday month.

That’s a great poem for that picture. We think it’s perfect for Xena to be a part of that poem. Millie has beautiful teeth, but Walter not so much. We love our daily dental chew too.

Hey there, Tiny Dancer Xena, great poem and you fit right in with all the other dancers. We know how well you can dance from previous posts. I am smiling at the little odd person out dancer. there is always one in a troup of kids.
Lucy, good to hear from you! yay for greenies and cookies. Beau is the opposite of you guys. people food makes him sick. I have had to remove him from the tidbits he was getting. now he is dry dog food, rice and ground round if needed, or for a treat, and a few pieces of French bread. had to stop the cheese, and now his meds are in the white soft part of the bread. he basically has the same stomach I do. small pieces of chicken make him throw up

Xena! What a fabulous poem you wrote……I guess it takes a good dancer to write about dancers right? Anyway, we loved it and the “sound of Elton” that accompanied…..my Mom always loved Tiny Dancer. AND Lucy – you did a wonderful job of thankfuls – it’s great that your Mom made you all some “REAL” dog treats with your favorite “tastes” in them. Moms are great aren’t they?????
Thanks for joining Angel Sammy’s Poetry fun……
Huggies, Teddy
