We are thankful for Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week!
Xena: I’m back in the saddle, as they say…
Lucy: Xena, I really wouldn’t use that analogy after what happened last week.
Xena: Geez, I’d almost forgotten about those horses chasing us. Anyhoo, I survived and am here with my poem about Angel Sammy’s fun picture (that I jumped into). Then we’ll all do our thankfuls! Here goes…

Yoga for Animals by Xena Schnauzer Princess
Down Dog is fun to do.
Mr. Bear tried it too,
But he’s built a different way
So did his yoga as he lay!
The End.
Xena: I’m thankful that I’m a dog, especially a schnauzer dog. That means I get to live with my Mommy and Daddy. (Bears can’t do that, unless they’re Teddy Bears.) And I’m thankful that the weather’s been so nice…no more bad thunder!
Chia: Yep, we do down dog every time we invite each other to play! I’m thankful Miss Jentry came over to visit with me last Sunday. Oh, and that the neighbor kids are back from their vacation AND are going to take care of me (and my sisters) this weekend while Mom and Dad go out of town for Mom’s birthday. I heard they’re staying at a place where there’s a horse farm. Kinda thankful I’m not going! Besides, I know they wouldn’t take me dancing with them, anyhow.
Lucy: I’m thankful, once again, that I got to go to work with Mom yesterday. I felt more like visiting this week, and I greeted and said goodbye to every single person who came through the door for their Al Anon meeting!
Xena: That’s it for this week. Hope y’all have a good, burr free, thunder free, horse free weekend!
Thanks, Miss Cecilia! XOX Xena

J103 Christian Radio station was in that mall when I first worked there in the 1990’s. I remember it well.

Nope. We’ve been pooping and puking in the house. Poor little MIss Clare from next door came over to feed us this morning and she had to clean it all up. She promised to take us all out for a nice walk later today if we could just try to hold off until then…

Maybe if we had a barn and there was no room to chase the horse…or the horsie to chase me! (Mommy had a red horse many, many years ago.) XOX Xena

The Al-Anon meeting Lucy mentioned brings back memories of when my mom would go to them there (I think it was an Episcopal Church although it could have been Lutheran). For a while we had to go to the Alateen meetings at the same time. But eventually I promised to look after my brothers if I could drive us all to the mall (Eastgate) so I could shop at Casual Corner where I bought most of my clothes. Hard to believe that was 50 years ago. I even bought my wedding gown there 4 years later (a white prom dress for $30). Loved that store!!

Bears would be in a better mood if they did yoga

Your poem is spot on and you have so much for which to be thankful. I wish you could make friends with a horse instead of chasing and being chased. They really can be quite nice animals.

Xena first let me say what a brave girl you were to join that bear long enough to post with him as he played FOOTSIE! Second of all your poem was FABULOUS. I loved it and so did Mom!

Dog yoga is always good for the joints. Guess it works well for bears too. Great job on the poetry, Xena.
