Xena’s Dance Poem on Thankful Thursday

First, thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the picture every week!

I love to dance, and sometimes I think about how Angel Lexi help Daddy and Mommy with their dance students. Maybe I could do that too.

Dance Lesson by Xena Schnauzer Princess

Arlene, keep your eyes from closing.
Watch his lead so you don’t go boing.
Arnold, your legs are too far apart.
Bring then together or you might fart.

You both, your timing is just all wrong.
You’re not listening to the song.
I give up, you’re hopeless, I’m going home.
You can pay for your lesson over the phone.

The End

Xena: I’m thankful that Miss Marie Cris rubbed my tummy every day she was here. I even started throwing myself back in the baby hold in her lap! That took a lot of trust.

Chia: I’m thankful that Mom brushes our teeth (almost) every night at 6:00. I don’t want to have to go get put to sleep while the dentist cleans them.

Lucy: I’m thankful for all the people who come into the church and talk nice to me and pet me. I smile at them and wag my tail, too.

We’re still waiting to see what happens here — the forecast keeps changing. Everything from snow with ice on it, then more snow on it, to just ice, to nothing. Guess we’ll know when it happens!
Hoping everyone has a good weekend without too much (or any) snow and ice.

Xena, Lucy and Chia

  1. True. I’m originally from PA, but I think my blood has thinned, as they say, since being here over 30 years. So far, only light snow and cold, but, also as they say, the fat lady ain’t sang yet!

  3. Our mom burst out laughing at that wonderful poem. The kittens are in the dishwasher the moment the door opens. Sawyer was always a big fan of the dishwasher. We have two of those big rotating litter boxes, which Tali and Gibbs think is a carnival ride! Our forecast is just as wobbly. All snow, snow with sleet … anywhere up to a foot. What we can be certain of is that it is going to be super cold for a week starting tomorrow. One night it is supposed to go down to -1. Whatever happens, you all stay warm. 5. What a good dance instructor you are Xena!!

We love all your beautiful thankfuls.

Mama and Daddy went to Tennessee last weekend(something about maybe wanting to retire there) and are thankful they missed having to travel in the ice and snow. Stay safe!

  6. We couldn’t stop giggling at your poem Xena – it was PERFECT (or “purr-fect” as a cat would say). We wondered what kind of consequences that guy would have from that “split” he’s doing…….your suggestion of “excessive air” is valid and my Mom says for sure those pants will be ripping in strategic places! Thanks for playing poetry with us…….you ROCKED IT!

  7. Wow, that’s quite a time warp, they didn’t even have computers then let alone make payments with their phone…wait they had to go home and use the phone on the wall!

Anyhow we still enjoyed your poem, today! You were a good coach! I never learned to dance…though I taught MJF to do a wee dance, and Dalton can do a bit of it too. Aided by the offer of a treat, BOL!

We do get our teeth brushed…once in a while, but petcretary puts some kind of minty stuff in our mouth and rubs it in every night.

Sure hope you don’t get too much bad weather. We are supposed to be sub-zero weather this weekend, like -14F on Saturday night. Brrr! And get more snow…
