Xena: Thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week. Chia’s supposed to be writing the poems every week this month. But let me tell you what happened. Yesterday, Fritzie was here. Chia got so excited and so jealous of me that she attacked me and I had to fight back. Thankfully, no one got hurt. After that, Fritz and I went outside together, and that made Chia even madder. Mommy finally told her if she didn’t stop this nonsense right now, she would have to go in the kennel. So she stopped. As punishment for her bad behavior, she had to let me write the poem today. Boy, is she ever gonna be unhappy when she sees my poem, BOL!

Xena and Fritz by Xena Schnauzer Princess
Xe, I’m glad I found you.
You’re in the woods alone,
Here at this old cabin
With no food and no phone.
“I needed time alone,”
Woofed Xena with a sigh.
“I have feelings for you,
About that I won’t lie.
The woods, the stream, the peace
All helped me clear my head.
You’re still a pup, dear Fritz.
About us, I misled.”
Jump in my car, sweet Xe.
Do you see that wee boat?
Our moms and Chia’s here.
I’ll leave them a quick note. (lifts back leg)
No, I’ll go back with them.
Our (almost) love affair is done.
Please play with Chia too.
She’s really lots of fun.
And so the story ends
With a schnauzer’s broken heart.
But new ones will begin,
With friendships to restart.
The End
Chia: Xena, I’m kinda glad that you did the poem today. *hugging Xena* The ending was perfect, and I don’t want to fight with you anymore over Fritz. I’m thankful you’re my sis.
Lucy: I’m thankful you two have made up. And that you both keep Fritz busy so he doesn’t bother me.
Xena: I just want to clarify: I wasn’t the schnauzer with the broken heart in the poem. For real, I’m thankful that no one has a broken heart! I’ve seen that happen to Lucy and it’s no fun. In the meantime, me and Chia will both keep playing with Fritzie. He’s got so much energy it takes both of us to keep up with him.
Fritz: Hi everyone! I’m thankful that Aunt Amy lets me come over and stay when my folks have to be gone several hours or more. It’s always fun and there’s really good food, too!
Xena: Who let Fritz back in? Oh well, he’s here, so Chia, why don’t you play with him. We’ll be back soon with some big news. For now, have a Thankful Thursday!
I thoroughly enjoyed your poem and what a surprise to find a friend
Hugs Cecilia

BOL, we’ll remember that title the next time we squabble. Chia knows better than that, cause, well, let’s just say it didn’t go well for her the first time she attacked me several years ago. XOX Xena

Yep, Fritz probably won’t be back over again until our folks come back from their vacation. Then we’ll probably have another fight. XOX Xena and Chia

Awww, sorry that Chia and Xena had a squabble over Fritzie…but it seems you’ve made up! That was sweet if a wee bit bittersweet poem!
I would love a nice quiet retreat like that, too!

And, eventually, we both wear out and then Fritz goes and lays in our kennel.

It sounds like Fritz needs plenty of friends and activity. The poem was excellent.

Easy Chia…you wouldn’t want to mess up playdates with Fritzie.

I get along just fine with Fritzie, Miss Monika. It’s just that he keeps choosing Xena over me! Xe says it’s cause they’re both schnauzers, and it’s a pack type thing. I don’t care…he’s mine! Chia

Yes, the schnauzers wouldn’t have gotten out of there safely if it was! Hey, I haven’t seen any posts lately by you and Reiko…

It’s raining like that here today too. Our septic guy told us we shouldn’t fix the lawn until we get 3 good, hard rains. This is #1!

We think Chia’s gonna be spending time in the kennel if she doesn’t stop this… XO Xena

This bloody heat brings out the worst in all of us, Chia. Hopefully you’ll get along better with the Fritz-ster.

What a great poem – and everything turned out OK even though it was “touch and go” for a while! Squabbles are all part of growing up (my Mom says)……I occasionally disagree with a chipmunk who wants to come up on MY front porch but other than that, I live in peace. Back to the cabin – wouldn’t it be fun to have a “getaway” like that little house? I’d like the QUIET!
Hugs, Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy too
