Fritz on (Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Friz: I think here is where I’m supposed to say “Thanks to  Comedy Plus for hosting Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop!” Did I do that right, Xeboo?

Xena: *barking loud* Don’t call me Xeboo!
Fritz: But, but, that’s what Chia said you like to be called.
Xena *Barking even louder* CHIA!!!

Fritz: Well, all you need today are my pictures to tell my story! PeeEss: I’m still a bit afraid to go through the doggie door without someone holding it open a bit for me. Sometimes Aunt Amy does that, and sometimes sweet Xena does that for me.

Xena and Fritz on Thankful Thursday

Thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week.

Fritz: I came over to play with Chia and Xena all day on Tuesday. Chia went into play position, but first I thought I’d give her some happiness by licking her, well, her privates. She turned on me and growled that she wasn’t like that and now I could go to H-E- double hockey sticks. Not sure where that is, but it doesn’t sound good.

So next I went to Xena and tried to lick her how she has liked it in the past. But then she turned around fast and growled, “No! You’re nothing but a playboy pup!”

Then Lucy turned to me and said, “Looks like you really stuck your nose in it this time.” I didn’t understand, since I hadn’t even pooped on the floor yet. (That came later.) *sigh*

To make up with Xena, I asked if we could do the Thursday poem together. She was quiet for a moment, then looked at me real weird like and said, “Sure, let’s do that.” So, here we go. *wags*

Xena: First, I want to say that I think you’ll know if it’s me or Fritz on each line of poetry. We pretty much take turns.

I Walked My Girl by Xena and Fritz

I took my girl down the trail.
I told the boy he must stop.
I thought she wanted some tail.
I banged on his head, bop, bop!

I’m not your lover, you know.
Give it a chance, you could be!
I’ll plant you under that tree!!
Alone on home each did go.

The End

Fritz: I don’t like our poem.
Xena: Well, I’ll be thankful if you got the message.
Fritz: Hmmm. Wanna play with the toys with me?

Lucy: I’m thankful that Fritz is obsessed with Chia and especially with Xena so that he leaves me pretty much alone. My days of dealing with puppies are over.

Fritz: I’m thankful that when I stay with my Aunt Amy that, when the girls get fed, she feeds me yummy food, too. I lick my dish clean!

Mom Amy: I’m very, very thankful that I am no longer working and can spend free time holding my sweet girls (and Fritz, when he comes over, LOL). I’m also very thankful for the wonderful trip to San Diego that my precious hubby took me on as a retirement gift! I’ll have some more pictures from the zoo and other places in future posts.

Lucy: Mom, can I have another thankful? Yes? OK, I’m very thankful for Miss Christy who stayed with us. I slept right up against her every night. And I laid on the couch with my head on her lap when she was watching TV. I love Miss Christy, and she love me too.

Xena and Chia together: Me too! Me too!

Happy Thursday to everyone, and we’ll be seeing y’all soon!

Xena and Fritz on Thankful Thursday

Xena: Thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week. Chia’s supposed to be writing the poems every week this month. But let me tell you what happened. Yesterday, Fritzie was here. Chia got so excited and so jealous of me that she attacked me and I had to fight back. Thankfully, no one got hurt. After that, Fritz and I went outside together, and that made Chia even madder. Mommy finally told her if she didn’t stop this nonsense right now, she would have to go in the kennel. So she stopped. As punishment for her bad behavior, she had to let me write the poem today. Boy, is she ever gonna be unhappy when she sees my poem, BOL!

Xena and Fritz by Xena Schnauzer Princess

Xe, I’m glad I found you.
You’re in the woods alone,
Here at this old cabin
With no food and no phone.

“I needed time alone,”
Woofed Xena with a sigh.
“I have feelings for you,
About that I won’t lie.

The woods, the stream, the peace
All helped me clear my head.
You’re still a pup, dear Fritz.
About us, I misled.”

Jump in my car, sweet Xe.
Do you see that wee boat?
Our moms and Chia’s here.
I’ll leave them a quick note. (lifts back leg)

No, I’ll go back with them.
Our (almost) love affair is done.
Please play with Chia too.
She’s really lots of fun.

And so the story ends
With a schnauzer’s broken heart.
But new ones will begin,
With friendships to restart.

The End

Chia: Xena, I’m kinda glad that you did the poem today. *hugging Xena* The ending was perfect, and I don’t want to fight with you anymore over Fritz. I’m thankful you’re my sis.

Lucy: I’m thankful you two have made up. And that you both keep Fritz busy so he doesn’t bother me.

Xena: I just want to clarify: I wasn’t the schnauzer with the broken heart in the poem. For real, I’m thankful that no one has a broken heart! I’ve seen that happen to Lucy and it’s no fun. In the meantime, me and Chia will both keep playing with Fritzie. He’s got so much energy it takes both of us to keep up with him.

Fritz: Hi everyone! I’m thankful that Aunt Amy lets me come over and stay when my folks have to be gone several hours or more. It’s always fun and there’s really good food, too!

Xena: Who let Fritz back in? Oh well, he’s here, so Chia, why don’t you play with him. We’ll be back soon with some big news. For now, have a Thankful Thursday!

Fritz on Wordless Wednesday

Thanks to  Comedy Plus for hosting Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop!

Today we’re sharing some of the fun with Fritz during the four days he spent with us last week.

On his first night here, Fritz was pleased with himself about finishing his supper and licking his bowl clean.

Fritz on Sunday Selfie

Thanks to The Cat on My Head  for hosting Sunday selfies!

Xena: Fritz is staying with us until this coming Tuesday. He’s been a pain in the butt, especially to Chia. But she and I have both played with him from time to time. He’s only seven months old and just doen’t understand “enough.” I still decided to be nice and let him do the selfie today. Mommy groomed and bathed him this afternoon, and we all think he looks a lot better.

Fritz: Hi friends! I was a real good boy for Aunt Amy while she groomed and bathed me, even when she cut my nails and pulled the hair out of my ears. I got some treats, too! I miss my Mom, though. But since I’m here, I’ve been having a great time playing with my friends, Xena and Chia. Thanks, sweet friend Xena, for letting me do the selfie today!!! Fritzie

Fritz’s Poem and Thankfuls

Fritz: I saw the picture for this week and said, “Xena, I want to do the poem, I want to do the poem, I want..”.etc. She said if I’d shut up and stop jumping at her that I could do the poem. But just this week. I don’t know how to type yet, so I got Aunt Amy to help me.

First, here’s a picture of me just in case you don’t know me. My Mommy is Clare and we live next door.

Now, here’s this week’s picture and my poem.

Best Friends by Fritz

I’ve got a new game, follow the leader.
We’ll go down the stairs and past the big cedar.
When it gets dark, I’ll grab hold of your tail.
And if it should hurt, just give a soft wail.
I’ll let go right away; we’ll still be friends.
You’re my BFF from now ’til the end.

That was fun and a bit harder than I thought. Aunt Amy had to help me with some of the rhymes, too. I’m so thankful that I got adopted by my Mommy Clare and her folks and her brothers and sisters. They all love me and I love them, too. And I’m so wagging thankful that Aunt Amy and especially Miss Lucy (she’ll get used to me) and Miss Xena and Miss Chia live next door . If I get away, my Mommy always knows where to find me, BOL!! Sometimes Miss Xena plays with me and Miss Chia has started playing with me, and I’m so, so, so thankful for that. I’ve got a bunch more thankfuls that maybe Miss Xena will let me share another day.

Xena: Thanks Fritz. I didn’t know you were a poet, but you did a good job. But there’s one thing you forgot…
Fritz: Oh, yes. Thanks to Angel Brian, who is hosting Thankful Thursday, as well as Angel Sammy for the great picture every week!
Is that all, Miss Xena?
Xena: Yep. Now go play with Chia so I can take a nap.

Hoping everyone has something to be thankful for today! XOX Miss Xena Schnauzer Pup-sitter Princess

Fritz Traveling on Sunday Selfie

Thanks to The Cat on My Head  for hosting Sunday selfies!

Xena: Once again we’re gonna let Fritz have the Sunday selfie. Maybe he’ll stop pouncing at us when he’s here if we do some nice things like this for him. Besides, Mommy has me and Lucy in another post coming your way soon, BOL!

Me and Mommy took Fritz and his Mom (our friend) Clare to the pet store last week to find him some clothes. For reasons only he knows, he liked wearing the clothes they tried on him. He got a new coat and a new sweater. The next day he went on an outing to visit with Miss Clare’s grandparents. He got to wear his sweater.

Fritz: I like going places in the car. It’s always fun!

Xena: We have a bonus picture of him shopping while he was on his trip to his great-grandparents.

Which picture do you like better for selfie Sunday?

We’ll see you again soon. In the meantime, please stay safe if you’re also getting this dangerous, icy weather!

Fritz Mania on Happy Tuesday

Xena: Well, it looks like puppy Fritz is taking over my blog. Hmmm. Maybe I should watch to see what he does and then imitate him. *sigh*

Xena: Can someone please teach me how to drive like that? And get me a car?

Thanks to Miss Sandee at Comedy Plus for hosting Happy Tuesday Blog Hop! Now I guess I’ll go see if I can get any treats for cooperating. XOX Xena

Grooming with Mom and Fritz on Sunday Selfie

Hi folks! It’s been a while, I know. Since we last met, Groomer Mom (GM) has groomed five schnauzer puppies as well as their Mom and Dad!
She was so busy with the pups that she forgot to take pictures of all but the last pup, Fritz. Fritz was adopted by our neighbors, and 15-year-old Clare is his new Mom. If you missed our Christmas Eve post about this, you can find it here.

After GM got off her office job on New Years Eve, Miss Clare brought Fritz over to be groomed.

This is a picture of them on Christmas Eve when Fritz arrived at his new home and had played himself into a stupor.

It’s getting pretty cold around here, so the decision was made to leave most of the hair on him that usually gets shaved off from his back, head, chest and ears. He still didn’t like being groomed and kept grabbing GM’s hand with his sharp little teeth. She had to get firm with him, and he responded to that with slightly better behavior. He still didn’t want the sides of his face shaved, so GM had to use the scissors, which he didn’t like either. Miss Clare stayed and held on to him, but he was still a challenge. Here is Fritz, finished, although not quite to the satisfaction of his worn-out groomer, AKA his Aunt Amy. And we let Fritz have the selfie this Sunday!

In one more picture GM asked me to include, she used ChatGPT and placed Fritz in a fancy salon with a mirror.

On New Years Day Miss Clare told GM that after his groom, Fritz went home and fell fast asleep. He had worn himself out, BOL!.

This is Lucy, Ace Reporter signing off with another (mostly) successful groom!
