Xena: Fritzie kept bugging me. He wanted to write the poem today. He nipped at me until I finally gave in and said he could be part of the poem. Here he is in the picture…part of the poem, BOL!!!

A Peaceful Getaway by Xena Warrior Princess Schnauzer

“Our schnauzer pup, who we love dearly,
Drove me nuts, never letting me be.
He’s so full of puppy energy
I had to leave to get me some zeees.”

“Daddy loves me, his best schnauzie pup.
I’m tired from walking and wish he’d wake up.
Won’t he be surprised when I lick his ear.
He’ll be so happy I followed him here!

For now I think I’ll take a nap too.
Then there’ll be lots of games we can do!”
“Oh no!” cried my Dad, “How’d you get here?
And please, oh please, let go of my ear!”

“I followed you, Daddy, all through the woods.
And when you laid down, I understood.
You wanted to cuddle with me all alone.
Without Mom or sisters or even your phone.”

Fritz: I wanted to do the poem, Xexe, but I’m glad it was at least about me! *nipping at Xena’s ears*

Xena: I’m thankful that you get to come to stay with us on Mondays and Tuesdays, Fritzie, and any other day you get loose and run to our door.
*under her breath* And I’m also thankful when he goes home.

Chia: Yep, I have that same thankful!

Lucy: I’m thankful for the rain we got all day yesterday, and for the treats we got every time it thundered.

Xena: Oh, and I’m thankful that the election is over and I’m not getting any more mail from politicians.
Chia: You didn’t get any more mail after the one that lied about you owning the house.
Xena: Mommy just threw it all away without looking at who it was addressed to, so I might have!
