Happy Birthday Chia and USA!

Happy Birthday to our country, the great USA, and happy 5th birthday to our youngest sister, Chia!

Chia: It’s the day we celebrate my birthday, since I couldn’t remember the actual day in July to tell my new pawrents when they adopted me. They said I’m a real fire cracker, so they decided the 4th of July would be an appropriate day to celebrate.

Mom, I almost caught the mouse! Does that count for anything?

I got a nice long walk before the day got to hot, just me and Mom! And she let me pull her the entire way without yelling at me to “Stop pulling!” te he. For a birthday I’ve been tasked with catching the mouse in the house! It surprised me once, and by the time I started chasing it, it had too much of a head start. But I’m gonna find you, mousy. Here, mousy, mousy…

Hey Mom! Me and Xena want to go outside and play for a while, come get the door…please. (Maybe the mouse will follow me out….)

Lucy: Yep, Chia’s been a firecracker all morning.
Back to it also being our country’s birthday, I am re-running this video for the 4th of July since many of you have never seen it. And if you have, I hope you enjoy it again.

A big thanks to Miss Sandee at Comedy Plus for hosting Happy Tuesday Blog Hop! And Happy Independence day to all our American friends.

Chia: Thanks, Luce the Goose. I’m gonna finish up with what my Auntie Jen texted to me. I don’t remember if I showed y’all this before, but it doesn’t matter, cause it’s my birthday!!

I’ll keep you updated on the mouse situation! XOXOXOXOXOXOX Chia the birthday girl (I’m 5! I’m 5! I’m 5!)

Chia’s Birthday Gift

*wags, wags, wags, wags* Hi, it’s me, Chia, the birthday girl! In case you haven’t heard, I’m turning four years old today, and the whole country is celebrating! I’ve decided to give the first picture poem of my birthday month to Angel Lexi. Hey, maybe I am growing up!
I’ve heard she used to help our folks teach ballroom dance, so I knew she would be the expert on this. She sent me this poem to share with y’all today.

First, thanks to Angel Brian for hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week.

You’re Doing It Wrong by Angel Lexi

Please try to keep on beat
Stop looking at your feet!
Hold paws and move closer
And please don’t call me “sir.”

If you want to rumba
Stop dancing the samba.
You flew me to the North Pole
Cause your dance ain’t got no soul.

Don’t give up though it seems hopeless.
You two just have to focus.
This lesson’s going on your card
So you two just keep trying hard.

Chia: Do you see the credit card by Angel Lexi’s paw? Wow, she thought of everything. I knew she was the right one to do the poem for this picture! When she helped teach ballroom dance she always watched the teens practice and barked at them when they were doing it wrong. Then Mom or Dad had to go over and say, “Show me,” to the couple Lexi had singled out. And, sure enough, they were always doing it wrong. Maybe someday I can do that, too.

Riley: Dream on, hot dog. Me and Lexi, we didn’t always like each other, but she knew what she was doing and was always good at it. There’ll never be another like her. But I have to say, it was mighty nice of you to give her your special day poem. Maybe you really are growing up, Chia.

Chia: *wags* Thanks, RiBoy. *wags* Hey, everyone, I’ll be back tomorrow to share how my special birthday went today, with all my presents and great food. *paws crossed* In the meantime, I’m also letting Lucy do our Independence Day wishes. (I should get extra treats for this!)

I do want to do the thankfuls today. I’m thankful brother Andrew rescued me(when my name was Chico) and brought me here from a bad situation. Then when my previous dad got outa jail and wanted me, Andrew just said I had gone to live with someone else and they won’t give me back (all true). My life here is so, so good!! I love my sister Lucy the most, and I’m so thankful she has put up with me for over three years. And I love my Mom and Dad and cuddling between them in the big bed at night. And I’m thankful for my sister Xena, too. We’re the same size and have fun playing together. I’m thankful for my yummy food and I’m thankful that Mom’s giving me a chance at Freestyle! Wow, I’ve got a lot to be thankful for, don’t I?! *whole body wags*

Happy Fourth of July!!!
Chia

Happy Birthday Chia and USA!

Happy Birthday to our country, the great USA, and happy 3rd birthday to our youngest sister, Chia!

Chia: It’s the day we celebrate my birthday, since I couldn’t remember the actual day in July to tell my new pawrents 29 months ago. They said I’m a real fire cracker, so they decided the 4th of July would be an appropriate day to celebrate.

I got a nice long walk before the day got to hot, just me and Mom! And she let me pull her the entire way without yelling at me to “Stop pulling!” te he. For a birthday present, I’m getting my big girl surgery this Friday! No more big girl panties or embarrassing urges for me!! (Please pray for me.)

Hey Mom! Me and Xena want to go outside and play for a while, come get the door…please.

Lucy: Yep, Chia’s been a firecracker all morning.

Chia’s First Birthday

We are happy to join The Cat on My Head for Sunday Selfies.

Hi, hi, hi! I’m Chia and I get to do my very first selfie today ’cause it’s the day we’re celebrating as my birthday.

Oops, first try.

Lucy, will you help me with my selfie?

Lucy: Then it won’t be a selfie.
Chia: But no one has to know. Please, please, please, please…
Lucy: Ok, ok. *sigh*

*snap* Oops. Well, at least you got my body. I wonder if we could glue the head shot onto the body one…
Wait! Mom, will you take a picture for my first selfie?

*snap*
Let me see! Let me See! Oh no! My face is blurry.
Mom: If you would stand still, Chia, your picture wouldn’t be blurry.

Today is also the day we celebrate our country’s independence from England. I heard we’re having grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and sweet potato chips and I get some ’cause it’s my birthday, too!

Lucy: Mom said I could re-run a video my Dad helped me make for the 4th of July. I get to star in this one. It’s one of our favorites, and we hope you enjoy it too.

Wishing all our friends in the USA a good holiday enjoying the freedom that was won for us in the American war for independence.

XOXOX Lucy, Chia, Xena and Riley

Independence Day USA by Lucy

I have to make this kinda’ quick, cause I just found out my bestie, Ella, and my guy, Achilles are on their way. They are visiting me for a week while their folks go somewhere else. Ella was real sick a couple of weeks back, and ended up having surgery and on heavy antibiotics. It had something to do with her gut. I am so happy she’s ok and able to make the three hour trip!

Now, to do my 4th of July post…

For those who aren’t from here: On July 4th, the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, which had been written largely by Thomas Jefferson. Though the vote for actual independence took place on July 2nd, from then on the 4th became the day that was celebrated as the birth of American independence.

Today, in honor of all the men and women who helped make us a free nation, I told Mom I wanted to post my video from two years ago. As a repost, we didn’t know how to delete the comments from then, so please feel free to just add some woofs, meows and howdys to them!!

Happy 4th of July

Xena: Our friend, Miss Vickie, made us special scarves for this great holiday. We hope that all dogs everywhere get great scarves on this special day.

Lucy: Uh, I think what Xena meant to say is, we wish for everyone on the earth to be able to live happy and free from cruel owners and rulers.

Xena: Sure, that too. And don’t make any big boom noises today!
