Piper is home after getting the tumor removed from his right back leg. Mom said some words like round cells and vascular, whatever that means. He is in pain, which makes my Auntie Jen also hurt.
Mommy went over and held Pipes and sang to him this evening, the same way she did me after my paw surgery early this spring. She said it calmed Pipe-Pipe, just like it did me. His Momma had to go back to work, so Mom stayed with him until his Dad got home tonight.
Even though Piper gets two shots a day for diabetes, his “sugar” is all over the charts, so he will have to go back to get an all day glucose test done. The doc should have his biopsy results by then.
And they aren’t sure if Piper’s heart medicine is doing the trick for his heart murmur.
His Momma and Daddy really appreciate all the POTP, prayers, and healing thoughts.
So many of my old and new friends have already expressed their desire for me to be their next Blogsville Mayor that I wanted to make it easy for you to show your support. Below are my official campaign buttons. Or, if you prefer, you can think of them as my friendship buttons. Please feel free to copy the one (or more) that you would like to use to encourage your friends and acquaintances to vote for me and proudly display prominently on your blog. You can see how they look on my sidebar. I thank you, and Blogsville thanks you.
Piper’s vet appointment today was at 2:00. The doc did a skin cell scraping (that doesn’t hurt) and said they were flat cells. She explained that those are very fast growing cells – we knew that lump wasn’t there April 2 when Piper’s Mom got married – and the cells might be cancer, or might not. The only way to know for sure is to remove the lump and send it off for biopsy. My sweet cousin is spending the night at the vet clinic and is having his surgery tomorrow. Please continue the POTP for Piper, and also for his mother, my Auntie Jen. She is worried and will be an absolute basket case if anything happens to Piper – just like my Mom would be for me. We love Piper lots and lots. Thank you to everyone who responded to my first post today with prayers and well wishes and healing thoughts. And thanks to those who didn’t respond but are keeping a good outcome in mind for Piper. We are believing for the best.
I have rethought my original plan to inundate everyone with all my wonderful accomplishments and all the reasons to make me the next Mayor of Blogsville. You see, I did not know at the time I began my campaign that our election was going to coincide with the National Presidential Election in the USA. So we have time. We have lots of time. Instead of a new Vote for Lexi! post every day, I will put one out each week on Tuesdays. When we have a debate, that will take the place of my Campaign Blog. Please don’t feel too disappointed.
This picture is totally unrelated to anything in this post; however, it seemed apropos for heading into nicer weather in Tennessee, USA. Besides, I think I it is pretty.
In the meantime, please do feel free to read my older blogs and let me know what issues you would like addressed by the next Mayor of Blogsville. When elected mayor, I intend to be the voice of the anipals. The voices of everyone from Great Danes to tiny Yorkies, from furry Maramas to naked hairless cats, from Rocky the Squirrel to Franklin the Duck must be heard, their concerns considered and their opinions respected. (No fleas, mosquitoes, ticks or intestinal worms, please.)
Introducing, Debate Tuesday!! That’s right, every Tuesday we, the Candy Dates, will answer five questions concerning our platforms and information about Us!!
For the first three Tuesdays we, the Candy Dates, will be asking the questions of each other. After that, we will be answering YOUR questions!! So make sure to ask us questions in the comments, and, no worries, we should be able to all of them in the course of the campaign!! Make sure to visit all the Candy Dates!
Now, On to this Tuesday’s questions, submitted by Christmas!!
1.What is your campaign slogan and why is that your slogan? If you don’t have one, what would your slogan be if you made one? Christmas: My campaign slogan is “death for Vacula” because obviously, Vaculas are the worst thing ever. Arty: My Campaign Slogan is “Keep Blogville Fun”. I love hosting parties, dances and contests (you might be able to tell that from the rest of my answers 😉
Lexi: I haven’t decided yet. Slogans are so limiting. I want options, don’t you? But if I had to chose one right now perhaps Peace Be with You would be fitting.
2. If you become mayor, how will you announce it on your blog? Christmas: I will do a long post about how grateful I am to Blogville for their support and I will give my mommy a big slobbery kiss on the face for being my awesome assistant and always supporting me. Arty: After I thank all of Blogville for their support, I hope to host an Inaugural Ball. In fact, no matter who wins, I will most likely have a big pawty of the winners choice!! Lexi: Fireworks. Definitely, fireworks. The fireworks may even have my face in them. I’ll have to work on that – or work on Dad to work on that.
3. How will you advertise your run for mayor and will you do it alone or recruit others? Christmas: Around my blog, I like to post fun campaign posters. The ladies love my handsome hound dog face! Oh, and I’ve actually recruited my pal Oreo as my campaign manager. Arty: I have a great team I am working with, Mabel (from Idaho Pugs) is my Campaign Manager and my brother Jakey is my Press Secredude! I hope to be on at least one talk show (I hope my running mates will join me, but more info on that later!). Dory has promised me at least 2 days a week of Blog-Air time so anything is possible! Lexi: I have posted my platform and have started posting some of the very best reasons to Vote for Lexi! on my own blog. I wanted Mom to hang posters around our neighborhood but she said that wouldn’t help. It is early in the race, and I am still weighing my options for my team. There are so many good bloggers/friends out there, I must choose wisely.
4. What will you do about the tree rats and Vaculas that are ruining our country? Christmas: I will send out a notice to all tree rats that they must stay in their trees so we won’t have to chase them back up the trees 87 times a day! Oh, and about the Vaculas? I think if our police squad here in Blogville is strong enough, they can help destroy all Vaculas. Arty: If I become Mayor, one of the first groups I will form will be a Tree Rat S.W.A.T. Team. We have a definite Squirrel Cartel problem that needs to be addressed! I agree with Christmas and, as a Junior Police Officer, I can assure Blogville we will keep the Vacula problems to a minimum! Lexi: Tree rats? I don’t think we have any of those around here, unless you are referring to those cute, cuddly squirrels that populate my backwoods area. I will listen to my future constituents about what they want done, if anything. Vaculas? If you are referring to vacuums, just stay out of their way, like on the bed, and they will not harm you. I support vacuums’ rights to come out of the closet. Can’t we all live in harmony?
5. How will you get Blogville members involved? What events/activities would you plan in Blogville? Christmas: Every three months, I think I would do a seasonal post where every Blogville member that wanted to participate could send in a photo of them enjoying that season and we would share it in one big post. Arty: I am very lucky that my Mama can do the Photoshops really good, and my brother Jakey is teaching me lots about Pizap and PicMonkey. I hope to have a few campaign events. Right now, Dory and I are helping Mama organize the B.A.R.. We hope to have a BBQ this summer, and of course, the Summer Olympics are coming up!!
Lexi: I think we could all go on trips together. We have already tried digging tunnels, and that didn’t work really well; instead, we could use big boats to visit across the oceans and do fun cruise things on the way.
OMD, OMD, OMD! How could I have lived this long without knowing about professional massages? They are better than anything!
“Gracie”
Do you remember when my new friend Gracie came to stay with us? Mom wouldn’t accept any money for keeping her, so, as a thank you, her Mom and Dad gave my Mom and Dad AND ME gift certificates for massages. I’ve been waiting a long time to get mine because I am not allowed to go to the massage place because of some stupid health laws. (Can you think of anything dumber?) Anyhow, Mommy told me I was going to get a big surprise at work today, something I would like lots. Finally, mid-afternoon, sometime after Mom and I had our lunch, in came this lady named Sky. With a name like that, you would think she would be blue, but her skin was basically the same color as Mom’s. It really wouldn’t have mattered, I just thought I would mention that. Mom says I am rambling because I am still so excited, in a relaxed sort of way. He, he. She and Mom set up the massage table in the room adjoining Mom’s office. Mom and Sky started feeding me treats and put me up on this big cushy table. Sky was petting me in the nicest way imaginable, and it didn’t take me long to just relax on the table and go with the flow. I laid down and Sky kept petting me, only she was really massaging me. It felt better than anything, ever. I started yawning and stretching with pleasure. Mom had relaxation music playing on her computer. This sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? But it wasn’t. It was real, and it really happened to me today. Mommy’s desk was right through the doorway in the next office, and she stayed where I could see her in case I got anxious, but I didn’t really care where she was. I just wanted Sky to keep massaging me. My muscles all relaxed, the tension left, lots of knots got worked out. Even the hip with the dysplasia relaxed. OMD I felt so good! Someone came to Mom’s closed office door and she told them, “Not now, and I know you will think I am crazy, have lost my mind, but my dog is getting a massage.”
When we left for home today, Mom said she could see what a difference there was in how I was moving – I had a lot more spring in my step.
Ms. Sky has a small dog that needs groomed, and I heard her asked Mommy if she would like to work out a trade. I sure hope they do that and I get lots more massages. This is what I want for my birthday next month. Plus maybe some Mickey D’s.
Oh, and Mom said sorry about no pictures. She was so amazed at my reaction that she totally forgot. She promises for next time. NEXT TIME! Yay!
I have had a very unsettling couple of weeks. It all started a week ago when Mom was out late with my Auntie Jen and Auntie Jen’s fiance Bill and some more people who had come in from out of town to be in the wedding. They did something called “bowling” and something else called “shooting pool.” Dad was gone to band rehearsal, so I was home all alone, and I am not used to that anymore.
The next day Mom left again early in the afternoon and Dad left again while I was eating my supper. That night, Dad came home without Mom! He told me Mom was staying at Auntie Jen’s with “the girls” all night before the wedding. Hey, I am a girl, why wasn’t I there. Piper was there, and he’s a boy! Piper drank some of Mom’s white wine to try to fit in with the girl’s night. How lame is that?
Saturday Dad left me all alone again, sneaking out while I was eating an early supper. It was wedding day for Auntie Jen and Uncle Bill and I wasn’t invited again! You can see how this would upset me. She says I am her favorite niece. Hurumph. Finally, around bedtime, Mom and Dad pulled back in and who did they have with them, I ask you? Piper and Ella! It wasn’t bad enough that Piper and Ella were at girl’s night and Piper and Ella were in the wedding. Now they were at my house! Ella came bouncing in and asked me to play with her. I. Said. NO. Then they got to eat in front of me, since they hadn’t had their supper yet. The final blow of the day came when they piled in the bed with Mom and Dad. I got out of what used to be our bed and slept on the dog bed on the floor.
Sunday was a bit better. After everyone got fed and let out to do our bizness, Dad left for church and Mom and I jumped back into bed and slept until 1:30 in the afternoon. We were exhausted. I was in a better mood after that and asked Mom to take a picture of me and Piper since I saw Pipes still had on his bowtie from the wedding.
Piper and Me
Both Piper and Ella gave out early on Sunday from all the excitement the last few days – excitement I didn’t get to have. 😦
My exhausted friends. This is Piper, not me. I guess we really do look a lot alike.
Things started looking up for me Sunday night when Mommy shut Piper and Ella out of the bedroom. She told them they could sleep anywhere else they wanted in the house, but she needed a good night’s sleep. I took advantage of the situation and slept with Mom and Dad.
Monday, they were still here when Mom got home from work and they were rested and ready to play.
My Auntie Jen came and visited after work and, when she left, took her pups with her. Whew.
Along with everything that happened with the wedding, I started having trouble with allergies. Apparently it is allergy season in Tennessee. I never knew what people were talking about until this year. My ears have itched, my eyes have itched, and the paw that I had surgery on has itched. Even with the benadryl I was licking my paw until one knuckle started to get raw, so Mom taped the baby sock back onto my paw. I just sat in the kitchen and held it up and looked at her like, “Really?” “Yes, really,” she said. So I have had to contend with that since Tuesday night.
Speaking of Tuesday, my faithful readers know that I got in some big trouble at work. I growled at someone. Mom knows she needs to work with me on this and Mr. Colin gave us some good advice. She even had the treat jar outside the office for people to get into and give me a treat as they are coming into the office. Mom said she just has had too much to do to watch my every move at work right now, so, after I growled at someone else just before we left, I got put on disciplinary leave without pay! I had to stay home the rest of the week. Of course, some of that might have been because when Mom bent over to put me in the car Tuesday night, her back went out. And not out for a good time, either. She has been going to the chiropractor all week and said she just couldn’t deal with me and my stinkin’ attitude too.
Thursday morning I figured she had forgotten and would take me. Mom shook her head and explained to me again why I had to stay home. I just stood in the kitchen and hung my head. Dad begged her to take me – isn’t he a great Dad? – but she still said, “No.” So I have been stuck at home since Tuesday night.
Mom said she will post some pictures of the wedding when she gets them. That’s right, Mom, just rub it in. I sure hope next week is better. Love you all!
This month for Memory Monday I thought I would mix it up with a picture collage. Isn’t that why we take pictures, anyhow, to remember? This one contains never before posted pictures of my first time as Toto in 2006. You can click on the collage to make it bigger and easier to see.
The top left picture is, of course, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Lion. The Tin Man got mad at me once because I got away from Mom during his big scene, his solo performance, and danced back and forth across the stage with him. The audience was laughing when it wasn’t supposed to be funny. He may have forgiven me by now. I never had much interaction with the Scarecrow. A man made out of straw is liable to flop onto you at any time, so it is prudent to stay your distance. The Lion was my buddy. He carried me a lot, especially when things got a bit scary, like in the Wicked Witch’s castle. He didn’t even get mad the time I gently reached over and grabbed his nose between my teeth while I was in his arms on stage. It was just an affectionate nip, which, as a fellow animal, he seemed to understand.
In the top middle picture, that’s me in Dorothy’s arms, sandwiched between the two witches. I was fascinated by the wicked witch. She was scary mean when we were on stage, but so nice to me at other times. However, I managed to upset her once too. *sigh* She was sneaking across the back of the stage, supposedly unseen by Dorothy and company who were at the front of the stage. I ran off from Dorothy (which Toto was always doing in the movie) and started following and barking at her. She started waving her arm wildly at me to get away, which, again, got the audience laughing. I felt it was such a success that I included that in my performance every night. She never seemed to get used to it. *sigh*
The bottom left picture is of me and the costume person. I liked her because she never tried to put costumes on me. She said I was perfect the way I was. *big smile* Finally, the bottom middle picture is my brother Andrew, so proud of me after one of the performances!
That’s what my sweet Noodle and I have today. My crew worked really hard to come up with something special enough for my fantastic guy. Well, most of them did, anyway. I finally decided that anything short of the personal touch would not be enough, so I brought on some so-called experts. They wasted no time checking out different internet sites, did a search on “love” and found that women sometimes dance for their guys… and their guys like it.
After the crew did more research, there was a massive scrubbing of computers. I’m still not sure what happened. So…
I did my own dance for you, honey. Mom helped me dance while Dad recorded it for you. There were times I was dreaming of dancing alone, just for you. I hope you enjoy my personal present to you:. (Be sure to keep watching when the butterflies appear at the end!)
Today we have all been hustling (he, he) (OK, tomorrow you will get my little joke) to prepare for the day of love. Mommy and Daddy helped me first thing this morning, and what fun we had! I sure wish I could tell you about it, but then it would ruin Noodle’s surprise. I’ve been in an extra-good mood all day from it, though. I had forgotten how much I like to d…oops, almost gave it away there!
While Dad was continuing to work on Noodle’s surprise, Mom started working on Daddy’s surprise. I helped by keeping Mom company and eating the stray apple peel.
Mommy’s love pie
We don’t know yet if it tastes good. We have to wait for Daddy to get home from his band gig, and Mommy says it will be so late that we may just eat it for breakfast!
Here’s the recipe if you want to give it a go.
I have been thinking for a while about what to do for you for our Valentine Anniversary. Yes, one year ago Sunday you asked me to be your Valentine, and I have been sweet on you ever since. Saying “yes” was a good decision. I thought and thought, and finally called on the crew to come up with some ideas. They all got on their computers to try to help me give you the best Valiversary ever.
The schnauzer team is working hard on this. No, no, not ON the computer!
I even recruited a poodle to help with the “oodle” side of you, as well as someone who looks like she is related to my friend Ella.
No! Get OFF the computer! (*sigh* Good help is hard to come by.)
I have to hop off here for now to review the drafts before the conference call. I can’t wait for our Valiversary! Love and kisses!
Woo hoo! Another award! I love awards. Like my Annie Award for being the best ever dog in a play (or something like that). And I love this award. It is so pretty. Thank you, Puppy Doc and Samantha at Musings of Puppy Doc. You are my newest friends.
Now, according to the rules (below) I have to share 7 facts about myself. Hmm, how can I limit this to only 7… he, he.
I am a svelt 20.5 pounds because I lost 4.5 pounds over the last few months. Mom took away my canned food and topped my kibble with veggies!
My most favorite thing in the whole world is acting on stage. I even got a special blue lucite award with my name on it (the Annie Award I mentioned above) for “Director’s Choice.” I could be on stage every night and never get tired of it.
My second most favorite thing in the whole world is therapizing kids at the kid’s hospital. I only get to go once a month because there are so many dogs who like to do this, but I am the only smaller dog. I sit in the bed with the little ones, and grin the whole time I am there.
Of course, my very, very most favorite thing in the whole world is treats. I get treats while I act and before I therapize. I get a go to the mailbox treat when I am home with Dad and a night night treat. My BFF Carrie brings me treats to work at St. Timothy’s and my new BFF Dave brings me a treat to work at St. Luke. And now my newest friend Beth brings me a treat on Thursdays to St Luke.
I hate being groomed and I hate getting baths. Mom says I creep when I am on the groom table, and I should know better after 12 years of getting groomed every month. I still think I could creep right off that table one of these times.
Even more than being groomed, I hate wearing clothes. I mean, I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate wearing clothes of any kind. When I was younger I would stand like a statue if Mom put clothes on me. She could pick me up and set me down somewhere else and my body would remain rigid like it was made of plaster. Now, I run around in spurts like a crazy dog. Run, freeze, run, freeze.
I am not a cuddler or a huggie girl. I like my space. If I want pet I will let you know. I will continue to let you know until I feel you have pet me enough. Then you need to leave me alone. Don’t hug me. I let the sick kids at the hospital hug me, and my Auntie Jen, but that’s it. Don’t cuddle me. I will run away from you.
Yes, I can count, but I have one more thing to tell you. Here it is: I am smart. Don’t try to pull anything over on me, ’cause it most likely won’t work. And if it does work, and I figure it out, I will pee in your bed, on your side of the bed. And you won’t know it until you are so tired you can barely stand up and you start to slide into bed and suddenly realize it is cold and wet and smells bad. Bwahaha!
Here are my nominees: (Noodle, dear, you have already been nominated, or you would have been first on my list, sweetie pie.)
1-Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog in the post. 2-Copy the rules and add the blog award badge as an image 3-Share 7 facts about yourself to your fellow bloggers. 4-Then nominate 15 people (I of course didn’t do this many ).
My first day back to work – Thursday – was a busy one. Dave remembered my treat, so the day definitely started off good. We were getting a new phone system and I had to supervise that. My minions the church volunteers gathered in the front office in the afternoon to be trained on the new phones. I paid close attention in case no one is around and I have to take a call.
I had been sitting while being trained on phones, but decided I could learn as much in a more comfortable position.
What a time of it I have had. All the boarders (both of them) finally left and I thought I was on easy street. Mom and I had a great day at home by ourselves on Saturday, doing laundry and stuff. “By ourselves” reminds me that my Dad had been missing for well over a week. No one would tell me where he was. I finally gave up and decided it would be just me and Mommy. Next thing that happens…Mom pulls out a suitcase and starts packing it. Then she pulls out my bag and starts packing it! Yay! We are going for a trip.
We were all ready to go when Auntie Jen showed up. She helped put Mom and my stuff in her car, but I wouldn’t go near it until Mom got in. I wanted to be sure she wasn’t sending me off by myself. We spent a nice evening at Auntie Jen’s, and at bedtime I got a bit confused. Instead of going home, Mom lifted me into a big bed and crawled in next to me. This would have been alright, except there was another person and her schnauzer in a bed just across from us. I stood on the bed and stared at them, but they did not seem threatening. In fact, the other person looked a lot like my Mom and was getting under the bedcovers at the same time. The other dog was a rather attractive schnauzer and looked very intelligent, so I just kept staring, as she stared back. Mom had already turned off the lamp but there was enough light coming in the window from the moon that I could see they were still there. I watched them as long as I could keep my eyes open. Apparently the beautiful dog in the other bed was also tired, as she sank down into the bed at exactly the same time as me! We both closed our eyes and went to sleep.
Mom was up early the next morning. Hmmm. Strange for a Sunday, but everything was strange by now. We went downstairs to the kitchen where Mom finally explained to me where my Dad had been for so long. His uncle -who was also his mentor – was dying. Dad had driven our car up to a place called Fort Wayne in the state of Indiana to sit with him. Uncle Don did die, Mommy explained, and she was going to join Dad for the funeral. She went through the mind thought of suns rising and setting to help me know how long she would be gone. Then, she and my Auntie Jen went out the door without me! I know shehadexplained everything, but I didn’t believe she was leaving me! Auntie Jen finally came home, and my Mom wasn’t with her. I was so upset, I wouldn’t even let her touch me. I just cowered down every time she came near me. I know she felt bad, and I was glad, because she took my Mom away and left her somewhere. I didn’t want her to get ahold of me and do dog-only-knows-what with me, too.
Ella
I have a new Uncle Bill who lives with Auntie Jen. I stayed in his lap a lot when he got home from work at night. I also spent a lot of time in the big backyard with my cousins, Piper the schnauzer and Ella the part boxer. We ran and ran and smelled the bunny holes and squirrel droppings and all the other wonderful smells. We chased each other and even played tug of war with a drain pipe that I think Ella might have torn off the house. I dug holes and got my beard filthy. It all helped take my mind off of possibly being an orphan. I still hadn’t forgiven Auntie Jen.
Piper (L) and Me
Finally, after supper on Wednesday night, Mom and Dad came back to Uncle Bill’s. Mom withstood Ella trying to knock her down to swoop me up in her arms and let me kiss her all over her face. I was so excited I shook all over. Then Dad held me and pet me too. My family was back!
This morning I went to work with Mom, but that’s a story for another day.
A special thanks at year’s end to those who commented the most:
1. Noodle of Noodleforpresident
2. Sidney, Shelby and Sophie from Corkscot
3. Shoko and Kali of The Canadian Cats
4. Sidhartha Henry (S.H.) of Nylabluesmum, and
5. Cupcake from Cupcake.
Hey Cupcake, I just realized I’m not following your blog. Fixing that right now, my friend!
So what are you waiting for? Click on the link below – lots of interesting info. Then post your wordpress.com stats!
–Although I have lost 5 whole pounds. Do you realize that was something like 20% of my entire body weight?
Remember this? I did it!
What I do mean, is that Noodle, my most excellent boyfriend, asked his Mom to show my Mom how to see where in the world people are reading my blog. Mauritius? I had to look it up.

Four people from France…hmm…I wonder if any of them are my friends from France who came to my house and ate supper with us a few years ago. Even trying to use my considerable counting abilities, I had to ask Mom to tell me how many countries are listed. She said 35. 🙂
Gracie and I have started sharing. I let her eat some of my food right out of my own food bowl and gave her my blessing as she did. She let me sleep in her very own kennel that is in my Dad’s office.
Me sharing Gracie’s kennel
And now, in keeping with my resolution to be a better dog, I share a blessing with you:
See that you are at peace among yourselves, and love one another. Follow the example of good dogs and cats of old and God will comfort you and help you, both in this world and in the world which is to come. In His Holy name. Amen.
I am Lexi, the good Episcopalian/Methodist dog. (Do you think Santa Paws will see this?)
Why, Mom, why? Just because I growled a little bit at some people at work on Tuesday…I didn’t think you meant it when you said Gracie would come Thursday if I did that!
I laughed this morning when Mom tossed Gracy into the tub before work and gave her a good bath. I was so lost in the moment that I didn’t stop to think what that might mean. Yep, she went to work with us. I was not at all happy about that. She rode in my car, she ate my food, she drank my special water and she got all the attention that should have been mine. I growled every time someone pet her instead of me. Mom says I am my own worst enemy. I don’t know what that means. The pastor’s 8 year old daughter was there today and she played with Gracie and took her outside and took her in the pastor’s office to watch a show together. Then she thought she could be all nicey-nice with me after that huge betrayal. I wasn’t having any of it. Dad stopped by and Gracie thought she could have all his attention too. I was so upset that I managed to get out the door and took off. Mom had Gracie on a leash and was holding the door open for Dad to move some big stuff into the church, so she couldn’t exactly chase after me. She took Gracie to her office, hollered for Dad, and by the time they got outside to look for me I had decided to return, since it was drizzling rain. Mom was so mad she swatted me with the leash as I tore up the stairs. It hurt my feelings more than anything, and I knew I was in deep trouble now. Mom had a lot of work to get done, which meant that I only got a short lecture this time.
By the time we got in the car to head home Mom was in a better mood, the sun was shining and I didn’t even care if I had to share the front seat with Gracie. I’ve been thinking, and I realize that I have to change my attitude to keep my job as the church dog. I think it will be a better night. I hope it’s just me and Mom going to work tomorrow.
Love and kisses to all. May the Lord be with you. (I am practicing.)
Yes, we crossed some pretty big rivers to get to Grandma Jean’s, among them the Tennessee and Ohio Rivers. Once we hit the area where Grandma lives, called The Territories, we saw lots of wooded areas. So I am sticking with my Christmas song for Thanksgiving week. If you remember, it had started to snow just before we pulled into the garage. It snowed all evening and all night and most of the next morning. There was about 8 inches of snow here in Northwestern Illinois and the temperature outside was down in the teens. Today it warmed up into the 40’s and the snow started to melt.
I am coming in from where I go out to potty. I can smell where the herd of deer ran through the front yard.
My bestest and only boyfriend Noodle has blogged about sitting in his Grandma’s lap when she comes to visit. It looks very cozy.
My newest friend Dante just finished a long visit with his Grandma. He rode around on her walker and got lots of kissies.
I miss my Grandma who went to Heaven. I spent a lot of time with her, almost every day for awhile until she had to move to assisted care. It is nice to remember that I have another granny, Grandma Jean, even if she is so far away. While I am here, I decided to try one of Dante’s favorite things with his granny.
I’ve been a good girl and get a ride.
Today, everyone left without me.
*stretch* They have been gone for hours.
When everyone came home, I spent some time with my peep cousin, Josie. She is a good petter.
I have a new friend.
We are heading home in two days. Just when I started getting used to everything and everyone. Oh wait, that means… Road Trip!
