Xena Living in the Light on Awww Monday

Hey there folks. While I know Angel Sammy is our poet laureate as well as the provider of such fun and funny pictures, I thought I’d make my own picture today and do a poem for it. If anyone wants to write me a poem in the comments, I’ll make sure Mommy reads it to me.

Living In the Light by Xena
I’m a church dog again
And I love to go in
To greet all the church folks
Who oft give me sweet strokes.

I sit in the bright sun;
Reminds me of G-d’s Son.
I feel warm and cared for
Right here by the front door.

The end.

Thankful Thursday with Halloween Poetry

First, thanks to Angel Brian who is hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun picture every week.

Xena: Chia asked to do the poetry this week, so, since I’m a good sister, I said ok.

The Halloween Disguise by Chia

It’s the No Clue Dog Clan
To do the worst they can.
Disguised on All Saints’ Eve
Dressed up just to deceive.

“Let me at em!” Chia growls,
Or they’ll rip out that cat’s bowels.
Ri! Bark real loud and roar!
The cat will lock the door.”

“Then run fast!” whispered Luce.
The cat yelled, “Bones for truce!”
The three sat up and begged,
But later that house egged!

I was going to say I am thankful Mom didn’t embarrass me for Halloween like she did a couple of years ago:

2022 – How embarrassing!

But then this happened:

How humiliating!

She even faded the background to make me stand out more! She’s been calling me Sausage, as in “Come here, little sausage.” Grrrr. I give her a dirty look every time she does it. I mean, she’s starving me and I still put on another 1.5 pounds. Yep I went from 15 pounds to 21.5 pounds! (Riley’s food sure is tasty!!)

Xena: I’m thankful I’ve stayed nice and slender…although I’d rather get more food! And I’m thankful Mom took the day off work today so I didn’t have to dress up as a skunk…or a vampire dog!

I’ve already done that. Here’s a couple of throwbacks.

I’ve come to suck the blood out of all your steaks! Vampire Xena

Our first vampire on All Hallows Eve was our Angel Lexi. She popped into a party some of her friends back here on earth were having. She said,”“I am back for the party ’cause there are so many good food things and all my friends are gathered together in one place, but please don’t think I turned into a vampire dog when I died. I am not really a vampire! It is just a really great look for All Hallow’s Eve! Bwahahahaha – I have come to suck your blood. (barked in Transylvanian accent, of course)”

Hmmm. It seems like there is something just wrong about the title Angel Vampire, don’t you think? Happy All Hallows Eve, my sweet angel girl and to all our friends out there in Blogville.

Awww Monday with Xena and the Pack

Xena: First a big thanks to  Comedy Plus for hosting Awww Mondays!

Chia: Do you hear what I hear?
Lucy: I’m listening. I think I hear it.

Xena: Look at the camera! Mommy’s taking our picture.

Lucy: Where do you think that noise came from? Was it a squirrel?
Chia: Maybe from in the house?

Xena: You two just can’t focus, can you.
Chia: Be quiet, Xena, we’re trying to focus.

Xena’s Selfie with Lucy

Hi friends! It got cold here this past week, and Mommy would wake up with me shivering against her in the bed. Of course, that was only when I insisted in sleeping in my own bed, then would get cold and get in bed with Mommy. She always reminds me that if I started in bed with her that we would be cuddling under the covers and I wouldn’t get cold. But I’m a schnauzer. I want to do it my way.

So Mommy’s solution so that I could do it my way was to put my winter jammies on me. She made these just for me! They have sock monkeys on them, BOL!

Uh, Lucy, are you photo bombing me?

Lucy: Sorry Xe. You know I don’t like my picture taken. I was just walking through and got caught on camera.

Xena: OK, I forgive you. Hope everyone has a great Sunday, and thanks to The Cat on My Head for hosting Sunday selfies!

Thankful Poetry Thursday with Xena

Hey friends, followers, and schnauzer lovers (and everyone else, too). I’ve got the lead again today and am happy to present to you my poem. First, thanks to Angel Brian who is hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun picture every week.

A Love Story by Xena the Schnauzer

There I was laying in my favorite place
When in walks a horse at a very slow pace.
His rider was older, just like the bar keep.
So gentle in manner he looked half asleep.

I saw you love animals when last I stopped by.
That schnauzer’s a beauty and doesn’t seem shy.
I don’t think you noticed how much I liked you.
Could we just sit together and throw back a few?

You old geezer, you’re crazy! Get out of my bar!
I’ll leave now sweet darlin’ but I sure won’t go far.
Hey woman, I woofed, give the nice man a chance…
They’ve been married ten years now and still like to dance!

Xena: I’m thankful my Mommy and Daddy like to dance, too, cause I sure do!

Lucy: I’m thankful that I’m now sleeping downstairs with my Dad. He’s staying there on a blow up bed until his new BiPap machine masks come in. The old ones were awful and keeping us ALL awake at night. I don’t mind so much, cause I can sleep during the day. But my Dad loves my Mom a lot and didn’t want to keep her awake. (Besides, she gets grouchy when she’s really tired.) (And Dad gets grouchy when he gets really hungry.) (So Mom keeps Dad fed and he helps keep her rested.) Wow, I didn’t mean to say all that, but I think it’s OK.

Chia: I’m thankful for my weird sister Lucy.

Xena: OK, so now you know a whole lot about all of us than we intended. But I think it’s ok. I’m gonna go snuggle up with my Mommy now.

Thankful Poetic Thursday with Zoie

Even though Zoie went home a coupla weeks ago, I still think about her once in a while. So I thought I would let her be the one who did today’s poem. I think she did a great job. Here’s the picture ( do you see she hopped into it?) and her poem.

For My Birthday by Zoie the Schnauzer

For my birthday I wanted crepes,
Not a troop of crazy apes!
Get me outa here tout suite
And take me to my Drew so sweet.

He’ll hold me and we’ll cuddle close;
He’ll treat me like his precious rose.
He’ll feed me and he’ll take me out.
I’m done with this whole walk-about!

Xena: Thank you, Zoie! What a great poem. A round of applause for Zoie, everyone. *Lucy and Chia* stomp their feet and woof*

Now, for our thankfuls. I am very thankful I got to go back to the church last week. I was getting so very bored at home. I’m also thankful that I’ll be going to North Carolina – depending on storm activity – the first weekend of November to do what’s called a “brace” with Chia. We get to dance to the same music at the same time with Mommy. I’m so much more experienced than her that she tests my patience sometimes and I start doing my fancy moves. Mommy said it’s only going to work if I encourage her, not try to outdo her. *sigh*

Chia: I’m thankful Mom thinks I’m good enough to dance with Xena. But sometimes I feel Mom and Xena’s frustration and I don’t want to do it anymore. Then Mom tries harder to be sweet and it helps. I just hope I can do good and not get too nervous at the trial in November.

Lucy: You both will do great! I’m very thankful we don’t live anywhere near the coast, and that our friends who do haven’t been hurt in the terrible storms!

We, that’s it for today, except to say thanks to Angel Brian who is hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week.

Me and Mommy on Sunday Selfie

Hi friends, this is Xena back again today. Almost seems like I’ve reclaimed my blog that was willed to me by Angel Lexi.

Chia: You weren’t even alive when Lexi became an Angel. How in the Sam Hill (see I didn’t use any bad words) could she have willed anything, let alone her blog, to you?
Xena: Her will distinctly states that this blog shall be owned and run by each successive schnauzer in this household. I was next!
Chia: Hmphh!

Xena: Now, if that’s settled, let’s get on with Selfie Sunday. This is an old picture, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, that was taken on October 5 at our Greenway park. Please excuse my messy beard. I’d been digging around in the dirt hunting for critters.

The question is, is it Mommy’s selfie or my selfie? I’ll let you decide.

Thanks to The Cat on My Head for hosting Sunday selfies!

Xena Goes to Work

It was Thursday morning – the morning Lucy has started going to help Mommy at work every week – and Lucy refused to go. Mommy quoted an old song, saying, “It musta been something you I said.”*

Anyhoo, after I saw Lucy heading back to bed, I was halfway down the stairs even before Mommy decided I could go with her. I think my enthusiasm helped! I’m sure that Chia already knew there was no way in doggie purgatory that Mommy was going to take her!

Here I am enjoying lounging in a sun puddle.

Do you see the halo around my head? It must be ’cause I was in a church, right?

I greeted Pastor with soft woofs and big wag, and he was happy to see me, too. He pet me and said he had missed me. Then Thomas the Mailman came. Mommy opened the door so I could run to where he parked the truck in the parking lot right in front of the sidewalk to the church door you see in the picture. Mommy yelled, “Don’t step on Xena.” (One time he almost fell trying not to step down on me cause he hadn’t seen me up on the step to his mail truck!) Mister Thomas likes me and is always glad to see me and gives me a treat! He didn’t step on me.

After having a big day of running back and forth to Pastor’s office and checking everything out to be sure nothing had changed, I was pretty tired. As you’ve probably seen in the past I do love to sleep in this chair. I was just waking up when Mommy took my picture.

I think maybe I’ve paid my penance for being a naughty girl at the church and I’ll be allowed to go back again. Besides, I did a good poopie on our walk at o’dark-thirty this morning before we headed to work. I’ll see y’all again soon, when I’m not at work. *wags* from a happy schnauzerina

*The song is “I Died in Your Arms Tonight” by Cutting Crew.

Xena’s Poetry and Thankful Thursday

Thanks to Angel Brian who is hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week.

Xena: Me and Chia…
Chia: She means Me and Xena…
.Xena…have collaborated on this poem. That means we worked together on it.
Chia: At her insistence, we tossed a coin, and she insisted on going first. Not quite sure that’s how it works. Anyhow, she does a line, then I do a rhyme, BOL! That rhymed! Here we go.

The Weird House Poem by Xena and Chia (Chia and Xena)

X: Is this a house made of marshmallow?
C: If so, it makes a comfy bordello.

Xena: Do you even know what a bordello is, Chia?
Chia: No, but I looked up rhymes and it was listed. Thought I’d give it a shot.
Xena: OK, let’s keep going…

X: Or did a dog grow and turn to stone?
C: In bed at night you can hear it moan!

X: Or an aardvark who grew big and white with age?
C: Whose Mom gave it a roof, t’was too big for a cage.

X: Whatever it is, I’m not opening that door;
C: You might get clobbered by the resident whore.

Xena and Lucy: CHIA!!

Chia: Ok, ok, OK! I’ll try something else. Go ahead and repeat your line, Xeboo.

X: Whatever it is, I’m not opening that door;
C: Though it might be stuffed full of dog treats galore!

Xena: First, I’m thankful the poem is done. Now for The Big Thankful…we’re all very thankful that Helene didn’t visit us and rip our house apart and flood our yard and maybe kill us all and, and…*hard panting*

Lucy: Xena! Calm down…take a deep breath. Now let’s count to 2…

Xena: Thanks Luce. Let’s see. I’m thankful my folks are back and I get to cuddle with Mommy every single night.

Chia: Hey, Mom and Dad said they’re thankful for what they’re calling a Miracle. The outside sliding door to the porch fell off its track real early Tuesday morning, like at O Dark Thirty, and Dad didn’t notice that it was laying in the yard when he let us all out. He said it was a Miracle that I didn’t run off.

Lucy: Why didn’t you? You always do.

Chia: I’ll never tell.

Lucy: I’m gonna go take a nap.

Lucy’s Poem and Our Thankfuls

Thanks to Angel Brian who is hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week. Mom said I’ve been a bit ignored lately, so I can do the blog today! Yay! And soon, very soon, I’ll have a new recipe for you, too.

Matilda and Me by Lucy

Hey, get this thing away from me.
It stinks and drools and may have a flea.

Matilda, you stink when you poop and pee.
If you want, she’ll be your loving puppy.

I don’t! Take me back to the nursery
Where I’ll be adopted by another family!

If we have to choose, we choose our Lucy
So goodbye, good luck and farewell to thee!

I’m so glad Mom picked me! Mom’s going out of town again this weekend to a funeral over near Nashville. She and Dad are spending the night and then visiting with our Auntie Jen and Uncle Bill. I sure wish I could go and be with my guy, Achilles, but there’s going to be too much commotion there with the funeral and all. I’m thankful that brother Andrew is here to take care of us! I love Andrew and my friend and brother Riley.

Xena: I’m kinda thankful that other schnauzer is gone. Mommy, my Mommy, would look down and see her standing next to her and think it was me… at least for a moment. How could she mistake another dog for me? I’m thankful I’m still Mommy’s baby girl.

Lucy: That’s all for this week. I’ll dig into Mom’s recipe box while she’s gone this weekend and get that other recipe I wanted to share. It’s another unusual one, BOL!

Xena’s Thankful Thursday and Poem

Thanks to Angel Brian who is hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week.

This was a picture I had to put a lot of thought into. The web is so pretty, but…
OK, I’ll stop keeping you guessing and show you my poem. First, the picture.

Chia Ate my Blueberries by Xena

I want that big berry,
It’s behind the web.
I’d better be wary;
I could end up dead.

I guess I’ll go home;
Mommy went to the store.
Chia ate all the berries!
Mommy, please go buy more!

Chia: Xeboo! You know I’m not crazy about blueberries! Why would you blame me?
Xena: Cause it’s usually you who gets in trouble for everything, so why not?
Chia: I’m calling my lawyer.

I’m actually thankful for you, Chia. You keep things lively around here. Me and Lucy were getting in a bit of a rut until you showed up four years ago. And I love berries of any kind, so I’m thankful, too, that you aren’t crazy about them. That means more for me!

Chia: Yeah, well, I’m thankful you eat the berries so I don’t have to, BOL!

Xena’s Happy Tuesday

Hi there! Mommy didn’t have time or energy (so she claims) to help me show you a little more of my time in Fort Wayne, Inn Dee Anna while we were there. So here are a few more pictures I wanted to share with you.

This first one is of my Daddy pushing his Mom – my Grandma – in her wheelchair for a walk through the neighborhood where she lives now. Her home is called Saint Anne Home and Retirement Community and she has a room there with lots of helpers and other older people. I let Grandma pet me, and a lot of the other folks who live there pet me, too. I didn’t really like all those strangers touching me, but I was a good girl and let them. I’ll never understand why Lucy and Riley love that so much.

We walked about eight blocks from where we were staying to visit with Grandma. Then we walked some more (as you can see) before we said goodbye and walked back to our Air B & B house. I sure got my exercise that day!

On the way there we walked through the park that was across from our temporary house. It was really pretty with tons of flowers and water and stuff.

The sign says, “Lakeside Rose Gardens.” Lots of people get married there. Then they can play basketball or tennis on the courts in the same park! Well, I guess someone can do that even if they don’t get married. Our temporary house is back behind Daddy, across the park and across the street.

I managed to sneak in one more picture of me before Mommy hit “Publish.”

I was in the bathroom waiting on Mommy to finish, well, you know, what people do in the bathroom. That rug was soft and I really like how the blue and white look against my hair.
I’d better hit “publish” before Lucy Deucy sees my blog post and tries to delete this part. She can be so proper…always one to follow the rules…except for her new strange obsession with eating dirt…

Xena’s Shared Sunday Selfie

Thanks to The Cat on My Head for hosting Sunday selfies!

This morning, before it got hot, me and Mommy and Miss Jentry (Andrew’s girlfriend) and my sisters all went on a long walk on the trails at a place not far from where we live. The place is called the Greenway. It must have at least 87 miles of trails and 2 dog parks. We ‘splored a coupla “off the main track trails.” One of them dead-ended at a tiny, make-shift beach facing North Chickamauga Creek. Here’s the picture Mommy took of us.

In this picture you can see how blue the sky is and the trees reflecting green on the creek. Do you see our shadows?
To the left is the small area where you can actually walk into the water if you want to (we didn’t want to). Everywhere else is a drop-off.

This is the same picture, but a close-up so that it could be my Sunday Selfie. I told my sisters to look away, cause it’s my selfie.

I have to go eat my supper now, so wishing y’all a good Sunday!

We’re In Inn Dee Anna

Hey friends, it’s me, your favorite schnauzer girl! Uhh, Xena, in case you forgot me since I’ve been gone from home one whole day.

We had a great trip to a city called Fort Wayne, although we drove into the same kinda heat that we thought we had left bee hind in Chattanooga. It’s OK, the nice Air Bee and Bee House we are staying in has the cool air conditioning.

If you look real close at my tag you’ll see it says HELP ME I’M LOST. Don’t worry, I’m not really lost. That’s just for if I go outside and get lost. But I try to stick real, real close to my Mommy!

Mommy and Daddy went out to a Mexican restaurant to eat with his sisters and their families last night. Daddy has a lot of food allergies that hurt him in different ways. For whatever reason, he forgot about that last night, and so did Mommy. She didn’t even think about reminding him not to order the dish with chorizo (pork) and bacon (pork) and cheese (dairy). She said that they had a great, fun time, but just before they left the restaurant he had to run to the bathroom, trying not to cover his mouth with his hand before he got there. They had planned on going dancing after the meal, but Daddy just kept getting sicker. The pepto bismol Mommy got him helped and he did manage to keep everything where it should be, if you know what I mean. But today he’s really tired, a side effect of one of the forbidden foods. I really don’t know what got into them, uh, I mean, why neither of them thought about it. They always think about that with food. Oh well, I bet that doesn’t happen again anytime soon!

I am feeling braver more confident than last time when Lucy and Chia were here with us. Before, I was pretty scared timid on the big wood stair going up to our bedroom. I did manage to pose for a picture or two near the bottom. (These 2 pictures are from our last trip here.)

Now I run up and down without a second thought!

Well, I’ve gotta go now – just wanted to let y’all know how it’s goin. Mommy has to go to the W-mart store to get my Grandma a cake and stuff to decorate it with.

Hope to see y’all soon!

Body Switch by Chia and Thankfuls

Hi folks! *wiggles all over* It’s me, Chia!!! Wow, I had some fun with this picture that Angel Sammy sent us. Oh yeah, that reminds me. Thanks to Angel Brian for hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week. Xena sort of got in on the action, as you will see. Here goes!

Who’s My Dad by Chia
My Mom and Dad went out on a date;
I think it mighta been somethin’ they ate,
But when they returned
I was very concerned.
Were their bodies switched? What makes this their new state?

Mom’s got all the stuff and Dad’s walking so oddly.
Xe’s going with it. I think it’s ungodly.
Maybe it’s witchcraft!
If so, then I think that
We call the priest to end all this folly!

Chia: Wow, I’m thankful MY Mom and Dad haven’t switch bodies. And I’m thankful for getting to go on our family walks every morning with MY Mom and Dad. We go real early before it gets hot.

Xena: First I want you to know that I absolutely would be able to tell if something like that happened to our folks. My Mommy would still pick me up and love on me, and carry me in to bed to sleep with her even if she was in another body, cause she’d still be my Mommy!
I’m thankful she’s still her, though! I’m also thankful for the yummy ground beef we got at several meals this week. And the avocadoes. And the strawberries. And..well, all the good food we get.

Lucy: I’m thankful Mom hasn’t sent me to dirt-a-holics anonymous yet. First, I rolled in it all the time. Now, I can’t seem to stop eating it. She’s threatened to buy a basket muzzle to put on me when I go outside. She did google what causes pups to do that and there were so many things that can cause dogs to eat dirt that it almost made her dizzy. The first one she’s trying is feeding me more of my regular food. I can get behind that! (Or in front of it, as the case may be.)
Oh, yes, I’m also thankful Mom’s still taking me to work with her on Thursdays. (She wipes my mouth off before we get in the car.) I’m being very, very good, too! (There’s no dirt to eat there, but that’s not really what I meant about being good.)

Chia: Ok, Lucy Deucy, we’re gonna call it a day. Everyone have a great Thankful Thursday!

I’m Going on Vacation!

First, we want to bark thanks to Miss Sandee at Comedy Plus for hosting Happy Tuesday Blog Hop!

Xena: Me and Mommy and Daddy are getting ready to go on vacation to In Dee Anna for my Grandma Jean’s 84th birthday celebration! I hope there’s good food and cake. I’m going to try to be on my best behavior and not act scared at the Assisted Living home where Grandma Jean lives. (She’s Daddy’s Mommy.)

Lucy’s acting relieved and Chia’s acting bratty ’cause they get to/ have to stay home with brother Andrew and Riley. This will be two weekends in a row they got left behind. I had to stay home last weekend, too. But now I’m all groomed and ready to travel in my car kennel where I feel safe and happy.

Last weekend my folks went to Knoxville, Tennessee, to a dance on Friday night. They left early so they could go to the gluten-free bakery my Daddy loves and then to his favorite restaurant for supper. It’s called Jig and Reel. He said it’s a Scottish restaurant, and has lots of different items on the menu that you don’t see other places. But his favorite thing is their “Scotch whiskey flights.” Sounds like birds or planes, doesn’t it? Mommy smells them before he drinks each one (she doesn’t like the taste) and then they compare thoughts on them. One of them made her cringe and cough and almost struggle for breath. It was Daddy’s favorite! She really liked the smell of another one, but Daddy didn’t like it at all. I don’t think I would have liked any of them!

They slept in what’s called an Air B&B in Knoxville, then went hiking the next day before they left for home. They found what they called an oasis – an 85 acre park – in the middle of downtown Knoxville. They mostly went to see Fort Dickerson there, but then they walked one of the trails. If you click here you can read a little bit about it. Fort Dickerson is the site of a big battle in the American Civil War. I won’t spoil it by telling you who won the battle.

Mommy and Daddy at the top of the hill on their walk.

My folks started their walk where the big red arrow is on the map – the one you’ll see if you click the link – and headed up the blue line, then moved to the black line and circled around, heading back to the parking lot where the big red arrow is. They said it was a fun hike through the woods with lots of big hills and roots and big rocks and big fallen trees and the occasional, “which way do we go now?” Before that, they drove up to the Civil War Earthen Site and walked the short trail around it, stopping to read all the signs about what happened there and see the big guns that are like cannons only a bit smaller. The Fort overlooks a valley and what is now called the Tennessee River, and was the perfect place for the Union troops to stop the Confederate battalion from advancing. Oops, did I just give you a hint who won the battle?

This is Augusta Quarry. It’s right at the start of the trailhead. Isn’t it pretty?

Well, that was last weekend. Now we – me and Mommy and Daddy – have to finish getting packed and ready for this weekend. I haven’t decided yet which stuffies are going. Probably Priscilla, she’s a good traveler. We’re leaving this Friday and not coming home until next Monday! Wow, that’s like 87 day! I’ll try to stop by and visit you before we leave.

Your friendly Travelling Schnauzer Princess, Xena

Xena, the Girl, and the Bear

Hi Folks! As usual,  thanks to Angel Brian for hosting Thankful Thursday as well as Angel Sammy for the fun pictures every week!

Here’s our fun picture for this week, and it’s a doozy!

Xena, the Girl, and the Bear by Xena

Hey kid! Are you crazy to stare down that bear?
You’re tiny and big bears aren’t known to play fair.
This isn’t your teddy you take to your to bed.
With his big teeth and claws you’d soon end up dead!

“I like him,” she murmured, “and we could be friends.
I’ll take him home and we’ll see how this ends.”
“Come in,” said Francisco, “and we’ll take a swim.”
“Don’t do it” I barked, “he’ll tear off your limbs!”

“Come pet me!” I wiggled and whined and yelped.
Then we’ll find your Mommy and ask her to help.
My excellent plan worked when we found her parents.
The little girl’s safe and Francisco’s…uh, Francisco’s…

Oh darn! I can’t think of a word to rhyme with parents. But Francisco lost and I reported him to management!!

Chia: It was just pretend, Xena, you can’t report him to management. And management rhymes with parent. phthhh
Xena: Well, I pretended to report him to the pretend management. So there! Phhhhhthhhhhh. Oh, wait, it does rhyme!

Lucy: I’m thankful that I have two silly little sisters. And that It’s cooled down outside just enough to go lay in the sun. And I’m real thankful that I continue to be allowed to go to work at the church with my Mom on Thursdays! I’ve been real good and greet people with big wags and smiles. Now we’re all waiting to find out if Mom and Dad are taking us with them next weekend on their trip to In Dee Anna or if we’re staying here with brother Andrew and Riley. I hate the ride, but I love to visit! So either way, I’ll be ok.

Everyone have a great rest of the week! XOX Lucy, Xena and Chia

Happy Tuesday – No More Jungle

First, Thanks to Miss Sandee at Comedy Plus for hosting Happy Tuesday Blog Hop!

It’s me, Xena, owner of this blog. It was willed to me by Angel Le…
Chia: Blah, blah blah.
Xena: …xi and it’s mine. Now that we have that established Chia, let’s get on with our story. If you remember, our front yard had grown into a jungle. We saw giraffes and monkeys and were being stalked by Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my! Well, at least by a tiger when Riley came and rescued us. He had heard the roar of a riding lawn mower starting up. Today…

The jungle and the critters in it all seem to be gone. I can still smell them, though. It’s sure hot and muggy (90% humidity) enough for it to be a jungle out here.

Wait, I’ve got a scent.

I think it’s a condor! I think it’s big and dangerous! *shudder* I’m gettin’ outa here.

…and then, Daddy, I chased it away. It was so big and scary!

Daddy: You’re my brave little girl, Xena.

Xena and Now Lucy’s Adventure Continues

Much later, at least 87 minutes…

Xena: Our front yard’s becoming a jungle.
Lucy: Do you see a giraffe? I think I hear monkeys.

Xena: *Woof! Woof! Woof!* Hey, you! Giraffe! Get outa our yard!

Lucy: *shudder* I hear something coming towards us in this front yard jungle. There’s lots of cats in this neighborhood. Sure hope it’s not a lion or a tiger or even a bear, oh my!

Both: LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS, OH MY!

Riley: There you both are. Follow me. I hear the mower coming, and you don’t want to be here.
Lucy: Come on Xena…let’s go!
Xena: Hey Riley, did Chia eat my supper?

Monkey: Screeeeee!

Tiger: Eww, smells like stinkin’ dog around here. Glad they’re gone!

The end.
